We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah Flood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeremiah, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is necessary just like failure neither bad or good- it just exists. it’s built in to any endeavor one may undertake, it’s a part of life and is the predecessor to growth or change, which is what I believe people fear the most.

Risk has been a constant in both my life and career, as I have gotten older I’ve been better at mitigating the degrees of risk, but generally my rule of thumb is execute the best I can with information present then adjust as new information presents itself.

To surmise, never gamble, but always bet on yourself

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Flood Sports is first and foremost an athletic development program. The primary focus is to develop athletes from middle school, high school and eventually college should the athletes choose to pursue that.

What separates us from most is we have an appreciation for the role the Central nervous system and vestibular system play in youth development and motor output, we leverage that to enhance skill acquisition. In sport, muscles are only as good as the signal it’s receives from the brain- one would want that signal fast, clear.

The pandemic was the starting point for us, the gym we working in closed, so we moved our training to a local high school field, that was closed to the public during the pandemic and it required us hop the fence to get training sessions in. In retrospect it was more an outlet for the athletes and myself and Kevin then it was about the training.

Now that we’re back in a gym setting the biggest challenge (if we can call it one) is moving from “technician” role; of just executing to now being an administrator and working on the business.

Overall the past year has been an extremely rewarding, very excited about the future holds especially as we move forward with our novel approach to ACL Rehabilitation.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The athletes and their families for their trust. My fiancé for her patience and understanding my obsession with sports, My good friend Kevin Alinyo has been a tremendous help with developing this style of training.
