Meet Jeremiah Locke | Interior Designer, Actor & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremiah Locke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremiah, why did you pursue a creative career?
I love this question!! For myself, I grew up constantly feeling the need to be creative and expressive. I was a natural born performer, with a passion to create. Living in a creative and musical household, when the time game to decide the path that I wanted to take as an adult, there were no questions as to what I wanted to do.
I always knew that the creative world is hard to crack, but I knew it would lead me down a path that fulfils my heart.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Picture this: at 19, a sassy little gay boy trades the plains of Kansas, USA for the sunny shores of Melbourne, Australia – talk about a leap of faith! Coming out as gay in a conservative corner of the world was like navigating a maze, but Melbourne’s kaleidoscope of colors and cultures became my safe haven.
My creative journey here began when I teamed up with my then partner and started a homewares brand. After 3.5 successful years, life became too short for just one passion. So, I dove headfirst into the world of interior design, where I’ve been living my wildest creative fantasies for 6 years.
Now at 29 it’s time to chase a bigger dream. Cue the spotlight and roll out the red carpet because this boy has got a flair for the dramatic. With a heart set on Hollywood and a background in theater, I auditioned for the TV & Film Acting course at NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) – and guess what? They couldn’t resist my charm and I got in!
Now, as I juggle scripts and camera angles at NIDA, I’m ready to make magic happen. Sure, there’ll be hurdles along the way, but armed with love and a sprinkle of stardust, I’m ready to shine brighter than ever before. Bring it on, universe – this star is ready for her close-up!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Melbourne is incredible !! So much culture and diversity here.
First stop is always the NGV and ACMI (National Gallery of Victoria & Australian Centre of the Moving Image) … it’s always good to see what art and film culture Australia has to offer !
Then lunch at Movida on Hosier Lane is a must, delicious Spanish cuisine set on one of the most famous streets in the world.
At night time, definitely go for dumplings in China town before seeing a stage production at any one of the theatres in town.
If you want a cocktail? Mt place of choice is always 1806, a hidden speakeasy on the “Paris end” of the city,
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout article to my High School art teacher. Without her love and support during my teenage years I wouldn’t have survived.
Thank you Ms. T!!
Love you always,
Jeremiah ♥️
