Meet Jermain Hollman | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jermain Hollman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jermain, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since an early age I was captivated by all types of story telling, if through books, poems but mostly through film and television. I truly enjoyed going on a journey with the actor of my favorite film or television show. As a very energetic child I would always mimic the actor of my favorite movie or re-enact the story line from my favorite sitcom. I knew expressing myself through acting is something  I wanted to do. I would have to wait until I became an adult to pursue my passion. I was working in corporate America in New York City when I started taking improv and acting classes. Performing ignited that passion I once felt as a young energetic youth. I was immersed in the acting world. I wanted to learn and study non stop to become a better actor. Now having the ability to be perform in movies and on television shows alongside many of my idols growing up has become a dream come true. I will continue to improve as an actor by studying and will enjoy expressing my artistic and creative passion through the art of acting.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Having a thick skin and not taking rejection personally is an important attribute to have when becoming an actor. Your ability to do the job and or audition for the job and then having to move on can be challenge. You have to understand that this is a part of being an actor. In this profession you MUST always be prepared and show up to set as a professional. Having a positive attitude and being easy to work with his extremely important. One thing that sets me apart from others, is that I truly work hard and I am not afraid to learn from others. Asking questions, paying attention to others is extremely important for your growth as  a performer . I am most proud when I am able to book a part in movie, TV show and or commercial and I am able to show the world my ability as a storyteller and take the audience on a journey. I believe my ability to get to where I am today is due to two things. 1) Never Quit 2) Never Doubt Yourself. You have to be your biggest fan and be positive and confident when approaching every role you take on. That goes for auditioning as well. Getting into the profession started when I entered my first acting class. I was nervous, but I am so glad I walked through that door that night.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I would like to shoutout my wife Shannon . She has been with me on this journey since day one. She has supported my dreams and provided positive reinforcement from the onset. She believes in me. Having someone in your corner like her makes me believe that the sky is the limit.
