We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerry Mitchell Jr. “The Jet King” and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerry, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

I noticed that African Americans are underrepresented in the private jet industry, and my goal is to create more opportunities for African Americans and other minorities. Whether it be pilots, mechanics, engineers, flight attendants, sales people, or executives.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My company, Jet King International, is a luxury travel concierge service specializing in booking Private Jet travel for celebrities, professional athletes, C- level executives , and other high net worth individuals.

The thing that sets Jet King International apart from other private jet companies, is personalized service tailored to fit each specific customer’s needs. Jet King not only offers private jets, we offer luxury & exotics car service, catering, armed security, and limousine services. This accumulation of luxury services creates a beyond first-class experience for our exclusive clientele.

Our customers admire how we interact with them on a personal level, and the strategies we use to discover their individual interests and expectations.

At Jet King International, every customer is treated like family. By approaching everyone with this mindset, we are able to connect with clients more effectively and gradually earn a desired level of trust. Our goal is to meet and exceed every customer’s expectations by going the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.

New members are treated like returning guests, made to feel like they are at home. Inevitably, customers translate this level of service as a royal experience. The extra effort makes each valued customer loyal to our establishment. This is a testament to Jet King International’s company motto, “Travel Like Royalty”

It is not easy to maintain such a reputation in a rather competitive industry, but I am determined to be a pioneer for fellow African Americans and minorities who would like to pursue a career in the private aviation industry.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I couldn’t have done it without the love , support, and encouragement of my parents, Jerry Mitchell Sr. & Kathy Mitchell. They have always taught me to strive for my personal best, to be a man of integrity, and most importantly, to trust God and let him lead the way!
I would also like to give a special thank you to my brother Jamar Mitchell and my great friend Justin Wortman for motivating me and believing in me throughout this entire journey!

Julian Horton (actor) and Deyonte Davis (entrepreneur) also deserve recognition for their tremendous growth and accomplishments in their respective industries. As a circle of friends, we motivate and inspire each other every day. It’s important to have great friends around you that encourage you to chase your dreams.
