We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesyka Harris and Rhiannon Dourado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesyka and Rhiannon, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Cause Together was created to make it a very turn-key experience for anyone to bring more social good into their community. With in-person fundraising events currently cancelled due to the pandemic, nonprofits across all areas need our support now more than ever. Additionally, many people want to support social causes, but it can be time-consuming and difficult to figure out which nonprofits are a fit. It’s even harder to figure out how to share on social media, with community and with friends & family. Cause Together, fully launching in the Spring of 2021, helps vetted nonprofits gain more visibility by providing marketing support that they cannot otherwise afford. Nonprofits can apply to join our vetted, searchable list of organizations. Users can then search the database, filtering by causes and geographic location or be matched by supporters who want a more in-depth matching experience to nonprofits based on their interests. We’ll also have activities the whole family can participate in. Our mission is to make social good activism easily accessible, valuable and fun. Our motto is Care, Share, Repeat!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Cause Together’s main goal is to help nonprofits reach new supporters, both financially and socially. And for users to realize there are ways to incorporate social good into their daily lives as well as learn about really amazing nonprofits that never get any attention. We both come from backgrounds that aid in this goal. Jesyka is an attorney, activist, fashion model & influencer. Rhiannon previously worked in the nonprofit space and now has a marketing company, working often in the social space. Our vision came as an “aha moment” around the protests following the death of George Floyd. We had always talked about there needing to be more social good online, especially with influencers. And we were noticing a lot of posts either being completely insensitive to the times or feeling like they didn’t know where to begin. We realized now was the time to merge our backgrounds and create a unique space to create a movement of supporters who feel empowered to share causes they believe in.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Rhiannon: There are so many great places in LA! The visit would include lots of beach days, hikes at Will Rogers, and a concert at the Hollywood Bowl (Ben Harper always preferred). Restaurants I love are Hedley’s Restaurant, which is my absolute favorite, try the Vegan Caesar Salad, you will thank me later, Sugar Taco and The Draycott. Can’t wait until we can do all of this in person again! Jesyka: Agree with Rhiannon! I have so much love and pride for LA. This is the city of creators and disruptors so everything is at your fingertips. I would definitely start the trip with a bike ride or roller skate down the Santa Monica/Venice boardwalk. Pop up to Malibu for lunch on the beach or visit a trendy gastropub in Abbot Kinney. You really can’t go wrong anywhere you eat. Get your flow on with some sunset yoga and dance the night away at a live music concert in one of the historic venues like the Palladium or the Roxy. Personally, I love live stand-up comedy and frequent the Laugh Factory and Hollywood Improv on Melrose Ave.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are both mothers, so our motivation in anything and everything we do is our kids. So we dedicate this to them and to every nonprofit that we can’t wait to support!
