We had the good fortune of connecting with Jewel Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jewel, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Wanting to create something that incorporated my love for food, obsession with music, and need to bring people together in cool new spaces is how the concept for SoulFood & SoundTracks was born. I wanted to create more than just a dinner party, I wanted to create a one -of – a – kind experience. At SoulFood & SoundTracks, special guest chefs curate a personalized menu based on some of your favorite songs, from some of your favorite movie soundtracks. Tone, pitch, and flavors are all perfectly synched to brings out every beat in every bite. What will your favorite song taste like? Visit our website today to join our next dinner party.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets SoulFood & SoundTracks apart is just the overall experience, its new fun and engaging, you come as a guest but you leave as family. You get the opportunity to connect with other like-minded people over two of the world’s most universal things – food and music. We’re excited to announce SoulFood & SoundTracks will be launching in a few new cities and States in 2021. Just because we haven’t been able to host an in-person dinner party since COVID, ( SoulFood & SoundTracks QuranTeenth – virtual Junettenth celebrating was a lot of fun) doesn’t mean we forget about our overall goal of taking SoulFood & SoundTracks state-wide. We’re excited to take on the challenges of a new market.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend in town I would start by taking them hiking at the Griffith Park Observatory, then maybe grab a cup of coffee at Sip n’ Sonder or lunch at My Two Cent, then a tour through Leimert Park or the Crenshaw District. Later in the evening, we might grab a show at The Hollywood Bowl or Sayers Club.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate this shout out to my mom, sister, and my amazing tribe of fremily ( friends + family). A special shoutout to Quarterman media and Moonwater farms for being the first to make my dreams a reality.
