Meet Jinx Kelly | Professional Mermaid, Burlesque Performer, Creative Embodiment Mentor, Event Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jinx Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jinx, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I realized that there were only two things I wanted out of life—To have fun spending time with my loved ones and to make art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a professional mermaid, burlesque performer, event producer, and creative embodiment mentor.
Aside from performing, I use curated creative experiences and healing somatic practices to help people reach and embody desired states of being. I work with individuals, and groups and I also bring pop-up events to communities. I help my clients channel the embodiment they desire to complete a goal, heal their body, transform a situation, manifest, and live their most ideal life as their most ideal self.
This type of embodiment coaching and mentoring can help with healing trauma, retraining the limbic system, regulating the nervous system, and releasing stress in daily life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think it would be a blast to take visitors on one or more of the following adventures:
Really, I’d want to find the weirdest, most enchanting things to do that weren’t too touristy and I ADORE pop up events!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was extremely ill the last several years. I wasn’t sure I’d be alive anymore. My dad did everything possible to get the medical care I needed and financially support me. He and my sister never gave up on me or our relationships. My platonic life partner, Bivi, who is always available for another delightful adventure. Duncan, my nephew, who made life worth living. The Captain for being brave and giving me the greatest gift in the world. David Dawson, The Witkin family, The Wind Dude, Mae Lust, David Arquette, Red Snapper, Cary Bayer, Roxy Lee of Roxy Talks, Ryan Stockstad, Andrew Kadikian, James Edwards, Somatic Experiencing International, The Embody Lab, Internal Family Systems Institute, Tara Rae, Jared Hoffa, Kyle Chitwood and my lovely cousins, Norm and Dannah.
