We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Echegaray and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joe, what are you inspired by?
To have the ability to touch people’s hearts, to hear someone telling me, because of you I didn’t give up. I remember as a kid around 7 or 8 I suffered from nightmares every night. Then one day my mom surprised me with Star Wars bed clothing and curtains. And my mom said .. now the force will be with you so now you don’t have to be afraid anymore. And just like that the nightmares ended… that’s when I knew and what I had to do…
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Although I’m still in my early stages of my career I understand being an actor is a life long journey. And is not an easy one. But the important thing is that I’m still here walking the path… and all I have to say at the moment there’s more good things to come
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m an extremely simple man. I like nature, the beach, forests. And I’m also one hell of a good cook. So I don’t spend too much money going out , lol However I do enjoy traveling for acting gigs
Being in Mexico was a great experience.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Praise Buddha, God and the universe. And I definitely want to do a shoutout to my acting teacher, who in my times in need helped me out when all doors were shut and still believes in me and my talent Mark Tillman!!
