We had the good fortune of connecting with Jojo Nessim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jojo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was definitely a scary and uncertain journey at first. There was always that fear of not knowing whether it would succeed, or if people would connect with the idea. But despite those uncertainties, I truly believed in the potential of sun catchers. I’ve always felt that they add something special to people’s lives—transforming ordinary spaces into places filled with light, color, and positivity. I wanted to share that experience with others and create a brand that could bring joy and beauty into homes and workplaces. Ultimately, I realized that if I didn’t take the leap, I’d always wonder ‘what if?’ I had the vision and passion, and I knew I had to trust that the right people would resonate with the idea. So, despite the fear, I pushed forward, and that belief in the power of sun catchers helped me take that first step toward creating Rainbow Spaces.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Rainbow Spaces, my main focus is helping people personalize their homes and spaces, which I believe is so important for both mental health and overall well-being. When your environment reflects who you are, it becomes a place where you feel grounded, calm, and inspired. That’s been true in my own life, and it’s something I love seeing in our customers’ feedback—they share how our products have brought joy and positivity into their spaces. Knowing we help people create those moments is what excites me the most and keeps me motivated to grow.

What sets Rainbow Spaces apart is the power of small, affordable items to make a big impact. It’s not just about selling products; it’s about offering people ways to brighten their day and make their spaces feel uniquely theirs.

My journey to where I am today hasn’t been easy or traditional. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but I struggled in school and didn’t feel I could express my intelligence through academics. After two years of college, I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me, so I taught myself through YouTube and a lot of trial and error. Starting Rainbow Spaces was my second venture, and it came with plenty of challenges. There were moments of uncertainty, mistakes, and doubt, but each obstacle taught me something valuable, and I carried those lessons forward.

One of my proudest achievements is seeing how far Rainbow Spaces has come—from starting in my family’s home to having our own office space in LA. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to keep growing and spreading the light!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I have visitors, I always have a list of places to hit. We’d start the day with breakfast at Bluey’s or Great White, 2 of my favorite spots! Maybe followed by some time at the beach in Malibu or Laguna. Shopping is a must, with stops along Abbot Kinney, Melrose, Larchmont Village, & Montana. Evenings are perfect for dinner with friends and a fun game night. Of course, I’d take them to my office so they can see where the magic happens at Rainbow Spaces!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family. They’ve been such a huge support system for me from the very beginning. They not only gave me the space to work from in our family home when I was just getting started, but they’ve also always been there to talk through ideas, offer advice, and encourage me when things felt uncertain. Their belief in me and Rainbow Spaces has meant the world. I’m proud to say that I’ve now taken the step of renting my own office space in LA, which is a big milestone for the business. I’ll always be grateful for that early support and the space they gave me to grow. Having that foundation of encouragement made all the difference as I worked to turn my vision into reality.
