Meet Jonjo Elliott | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonjo Elliott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want the colours and compositions I use to stop people in their tracks. My art is vibrant and inspired by art history, modern architecture and interiors but with a focus on botanical themes. I think my style is so easily recognisable now and its the thing that attracts new collectors to my studio. I’m proud to say I’ve exhibited internationally in LA, NYC, Florida, Switzerland, Brisbane, London and New Zealand and my art sits in celebrity homes in LA. I’ve also had my art featured in Netflix shows which is just amazing! I’ve been painting for around 5 years but I’ve always been a creative person loving printmaking, photography and design. its not easy to be an artist these days, its constant hard work but I love the challenge and I can’t stop. I want to see where it takes me next.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Breakfast in Malibu before surfing one of the perfect beach breaks, lunch at Soho Beach House then an afternoon visiting the best galleries in LA starting at Artplex Gallery on Beverly Boulevard. Evening would be a drive through Laurel Canyon to watch the sunset and take in the breathtaking scenery.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I couldn’t write this without a massive thanks to Artplex Gallery in Los Angeles. In 2019 they took a risk and offered me representation and a solo show, since then they’ve been there constantly, pushing my work and giving me some amazing opportunities.
