We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Benton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, what do you want your legacy to be?
Thats a great question. I envision my legacy as one to be remembered. I want people to remember me by many positive aspects and experiences but most importantly authenticity. With my experiences, able to empower others to empower their own legacies.. Remembered for timeless classics artistically. Remembered for making a rare difference historically. and Remembered for spreading knowledge culturally.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My Art is me, I am my Art. I am art in motion, as a person on earth, I am a constant expression of God’s creations, an art form in myself. My commitment to craft of producing great music and timeless projects is what sets me apart. My approach is unique in the fact that the most important thing is doing what I love to do and showing up everyday. The accolades, the money, the awards are a byproduct of me becoming what I am, a creator, a producer. My art is what I have used to find myself and push myself as a human being so I can maximize my potential and change the world. I will make music and create without the promise of reward because it is who I am, and that what will set me apart now and over the span of time. After a career in football, using the discipline I gained from 20 years of development, Discipline, is what has got me where I am professionally in my Art career. Like I mentioned before, my discipline to my craft, not focused on anything but the gratitude to create on a daily basis, is truly why I am different than the majority of people who believe they do the same thing I do. It was not easy to get to this point but also, it is no difficult doing what you love doing, it barely seems like work. The challenges I face are destroyed by commitment and faith. So if I truly learned anything during this journey, is that you can achieve anything with a growing discipline and faith with anything you do. My brand Rarity Lifestyle emphasizes this because I truly want to empower each person to commit their lives to what they want to do and who they want to be. This will take everything they have and have to become, but with alignment to doing what you truly want to do, it will never be something we don’t want to do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Los Angeles, we would frequent the beach, grab some nutrient rich foods available all over the city, stop by our main locations like Boketto Cold Brew in Downtown LA, we would go to the studio and create some timeless classics, followed by a performance and event full of great energy, people, and music. Post performance we can hit a Casino and continue the night until the early morning. This is a sample for what we would do. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The people who deserve a shoutout the most in my story are those who didn’t want to me to win, The people who made it a point to make my journey more difficult or to stop what was coming to me. From them, I was able to form such a confidence within myself that does not involve any external factor. Those who thought they could force the door of opportunity closed, when now it is them who have to deal with my success the most. They ignited such an unquenchable desire to be successful, that I have developed myself in so many ways to become the best person, artist, and business owner I can potentially be. With them, I have been able to motivate myself and excel past anything they could ever believe. I know I am great because I have overcame every attack on me, and will continue to do so because I have learned all power is truly within.
