Meet Jordan Massey | Canadian-American pop artist, singer-songwriter, and actor.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Massey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jordan, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
One of the habits that has been absolutely essential for me is consistency. It’s easy to get wrapped up in moments of inspiration, but the reality is, the grind doesn’t stop. Showing up every day, whether it’s working on my songwriting, vocal training, or brainstorming for a project – that consistency pushes me forward, even on days when motivation feels a little harder to find.
Another key habit for me has been self-discipline. Balancing the creative side with the business side requires a clear mind and the willingness to prioritize what needs to be done, especially when I’d rather be creating. Setting deadlines and keeping myself accountable has helped me stay focused on my goals.
Lastly, self-reflection has really kept me grounded. I make it a habit to take a step back and ask myself why I’m doing what I’m doing. This habit of grounding myself helps keep my work genuine and reminds me to stay connected to my purpose, even as things get busier. These habits together have kept me growing as an artist and made a huge difference in my journey.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music has always been about creating a world where listeners can see themselves in the stories I tell. I’m really excited for this next era because it’s a chance to dive even deeper into storytelling, bringing in themes that feel like they’re mine. I want every lyric and every melody to reflect a chapter of life, whether it’s one I’ve lived or one I imagine others might connect with. Writing in this way challenges me—it pushes me to become a better storyteller with each record, and that’s something I take a lot of pride in.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. This path came with intense highs and lows, and a lot of late nights spent wondering if the work would ever truly pay off. Building each story isn’t just about sitting down to write—it’s about what I have to say in the moment, which can be incredibly personal and vulnerable. At times, I faced challenges that forced me to question everything—relationships that shifted, industry pressures, and those quiet periods when nothing seemed to move forward. But persistence kept me going, even in the darkest moments. The need to express, connect, and evolve in my craft was stronger than the doubts and setbacks.
Through it all, I learned the importance of resilience and self-belief. Music is a passion, but it’s also a discipline. I put in the work, even when the outcome was uncertain, and that persistence is what kept me in the game. I want the world to know that my brand, my music, isn’t just about “making it” in the industry. It’s about authenticity, growth, and telling the kind of stories that make people feel heard. With this next era, I’m ready to bring that vision to life and hopefully connect with people in ways I haven’t before.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d definitely want to show them the real LA experience. I’ve been here a bit over a year, but I still feel like I’ve only scratched the surface—there’s always something new to explore! We’d kick off the week with a sunset trip to “The View,” this hidden hilltop spot where my friends and I go to take in a crazy view of the whole city. It’s got that chill, laid-back vibe that’s the perfect intro to LA.
From there, we’d hit up Santa Monica for the classic beach experience—surf, sand, and maybe a ride on the Ferris wheel to take it all in. We’d spend a day or two wandering through West Hollywood, catching a rooftop brunch somewhere like EP & LP, and then probably end up dancing the night away. LA’s got no shortage of places to let loose!
For some adventure, maybe a hike up Runyon Canyon or Griffith Observatory to catch the city views and get that iconic Hollywood Sign selfie. And food? We’d go all out—tacos from Guisados, ramen in Little Tokyo, or something from Grand Central Market. And, of course, a stop at Roscoe’s for some fried chicken and waffles.
Every corner of LA has its own vibe, and I’d want them to experience it all—the glam, the hidden spots, and everything in between. By the end of the week, they’d see why LA’s got me always on the lookout for something new.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a huge shoutout to indiefferential Magazine for showing so much support for my journey. They put me in print for the first time this year, and then followed up with a two-page feature in their October 2024 issue. That kind of recognition has been more than I could’ve ever asked for, and it’s something my younger self would have only dreamed of. Seeing my story and my work on those pages is a moment I’ll always cherish. It’s an incredible way to kick off this new chapter, and I’m endlessly grateful for indiefferential for creating that opportunity.
