We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Palani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The amount of “WORK” it really takes to be an artist. This day and age you gotta have more than just a good singing voice. You have to look the part. You’ve gotta be consistent. You have to be able to be a social media person and have to have a story. I work out everyday. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy working out, but the driving factor for me is that I have to keep a good physique for my look. Whether I am on stage or in photos and videos I have to look like a POPSTAR. Every day i’m posting on social media and trying to build my fan base and create a network of people to buy into “Jordan Palani” and everything I have to offer. Then on top of all that I am working on music. I’m learning how to engineers and produce. I am writing and recording songs EVERYDAY. it’s so much more than just singing. I’m not the GREATEST singer yet, but I’m still training my voice and putting in the reps. I also think people are unaware of how much money plays a factor in being an artist. Especially as somebody who is independent without a investor or label backing the costs of expenses. You need to spend money in the music industry unless somehow someway you are able to record, mix, master, producer, film, edit, promote, and publish your own music (THIS IS VERY DIFFICULT). Otherwise you’ve got to outsource and get help in some of these areas where it takes money in order to get high quality sound and video.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m different from others because I will out work anybody. I don’t have some god given talent. I’m not trying to be somebody that I’m not. I am myself, and I don’t ever want to to give up. I set my mind to this and I’m going to see it through. I’m excited for this journey that I am on it’s going to be filled with ups and downs but at the end of it it’ll be a story that changes my life forever. I grew up playing sports my parents wanted me to go to school to be a lawyer and I graduated college with my bachelors at 20 years old. I decided to live my life for me and take a chance on music. I went to school to fulfill what my parents wanted and ultimately instead of law school I pursued what I wanted. IF you know in your heart that there’s something out there that you can do every single day and still be in love with it and have a passion for it. Why wouldn’t you make that your career. People always theres no money in music or that it’s a very hard process to make money in music. My answer is always the same if it was easy everyone would do and I’m not in it for the money…. I do music because it makes me feel like I matter and I love doing it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a very simple guy I grew up in Corona California literally the definition of suburbs so I like simples things going bowling is one of my favorite activities to do on a night out. I’m not too into clubbing and partying. I really enjoy scenic things like going to museums or seeing a movie. I’m also not that much of a foody. I eat more out of necessity rather than enjoyment. Although, I love bj’s and their oreo pazooki.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Garrett Douglas – Songwriter who has known me since I was 9 years old. Garrett has been the most influential person in my music career so far. He has helped me grow as an artist and really develop my sound. Garrett is a monster when it comes to music he is able to do everything. He has also been a role model to me and has been there for me no matter what. Without him there wouldn’t be a me I strive to be as great as Garrett and together we will be the face of pop music within the coming years.

Diego Uriostegui – This man was the first ever person I recorded with back in my hometown of Corona California. He helped me in the beginning of my career. He allowed me to experiment and learn about what music is. He produced some of my favorite songs that I have out right now. He is somebody who is a great person and has the kindest heart. He just loves music and s able to help any every artist in some type of way whether it’s producing, songwriting, or giving them a high quality recording space at urgrecords. Without Diego I probably would have never started making music because I didn’t know how!

Adrian Uriostegui – Adrian is my best friend and guitarist. He is the most musically talented person I’ve ever met he has a good ear and his writing skills are unmatched. He’s alwasy been there for and he’s never once left my side. When I needed him most he was there to let me either crash at his house or provide his input on what we could do to make this music more than jsut a hobby. He’s in it with me we want to make music our career our source of income.

Frank Aguon ( My Dad ) – My dad isn’t my manager he’s just a dad, but he is the most helpful and supportive dad in the world. He has my back and he’s fully supportive of and is trying to do anything and everything he can to help me. He’s always sharing and trying to see what he can do to help my music career in anyway

The rest of my friends and family – There are too many too list but my family and my friends they believe in me.
