We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose Hernandez and Austin Ahn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jose and Austin, why did you pursue a creative career?
We both have very similar reasons why we chose to do an artistic/creative career. It’s about the the daily routine, its always refreshing and requires you to think outside the box. You don’t get stuck feeling like you’re doing the same routine over and over. We are also very both against going into an office, nothing wrong with people who do that but its just not the environment we like. We both have normal jobs and when we are in the studio, it feels like our home away from home, very natural.

We also wanted to wake up everyday and feel like our career isn’t just a job, but rather a life style.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We’re electronic music producers/DJ’s from Los Angeles to keep it short. We are a duo who focus on melodic bass music but we also have pop elements which can help us achieve our dream goal of getting on the radio.

We’re really excited about the new music we’re working on and the new people/fans we get to meet every day. It hasn’t been an easy journey with Covid and just constant rejections from labels but persistence and perseverance has really helped us keep going and working on getting better and better each day. We learned that you have to stay humble and always keep learning, you can’t stop learning in music.

One thing we really want people to know about us is that we’re two down to earth dudes who deep down are just nerds who love being on their computer all day playing with sounds. We’re grateful for the shows we get to play and the people we meet and if theres anything anyone can take away from this is, always be kind to everyone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ooo this is fun becasue we actually do host friends when they are in town.

We would take them to Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, Griffith Observatory, The Grove, Beverly Hills, Century City, Echo Park, Sunset Blvd and downtown LA.

We have so many things to do such as shopping at the Westfield malls, Eating Brazilian food at Fogo De Chao or Pampas. We could also Shop on Melrose Ave while enjoying All about The Bread or Tatsu Ramen.

We could bar hop in Santa Monica and enjoy The Bungalow and many other places. We could also go on a Sunday to Smorgasbord in Downtown LA.

We can enjoy all you can eat KKB at Oo-Kook or Bugalgi hut in Koreatown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would love to shoutout Miranda at Insomniac for always believing in us and providing opportunities for us to play shows and connect with more fans.

We wanted to shoutout the labels such as Tribal Trap, Subsidia, and Loudkult who have believed in us and have helped us achieve milestones on our streaming platforms.

Lastly we wanted to shoutout the artist who we look up to, who have supported our music in various ways. Nitti Gritti, BEAUZ, KAYZO, and our close friend Ryan (Louder Space).
