We had the good fortune of connecting with Dante Nicholas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dante, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My process behind starting Real Talent Entertainment was to create a multimedia empire/strong entertainment industry driven company that takes the talented entertainers of SC mainstream where they deserve. South Carolina has always been a state where people ran from to make it big. My mission was and still is to make sure RTE is not only just a home for creative beings but also an empire that persuades people to come to SC instead of running from SC.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Real Talent Entertainment is an entertainment company that develops, manages, and markets talented entertainers by using our own online entertainment network RTE-TV. RTE was started after I had given up on my dreams and passions to be in the entertainment world. I went and got life together and re-established myself as an adult and shortly after my dreams began to come back. Then, I decided to use my strengths which were managing and running things from behind the scenes. Being behind the scenes, managing entertainers and everything else that goes with the job is what drives me and my passion. God made everyone special in their own right, so who are we to not use our gifts and talents that he blessed us with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Columbia Entertainment scene is growing. The week would start with with karaoke at R&B Bar & Grill or an open mic comedy show at The Joint on Monday. Tuesday night would be karoake at My House Bar and Grill. Wednesday is always good vibes at Main Course Open Mic show hosted by Boogie Brown and Mike Stone. Wednesday nights are also good to pop out to Restricted Bistro Lounge and enjoy some drinks and good energy with Mr.Mix803. Thursday nights, Hylo Art and RTE produce “600 Secs”. This is a live talk show and open mic that is open to the public. Friday and Saturday, The Vista is definitely the place to be. To finish the week, we have to go check out “7Sundays open mic show”. So that’s my city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I have to give honor and thanks to God. I’m grateful that I don’t look like what I’ve been through. Secondly, I also have to shout out my family who has always supported me from the beginning. My mom is my hero. Lastly, my team is incredible. Each of them have motivated me and pushed me to be better during times I was questioning myself and even wanted to give up. God really blessed me with my family at RTE.
