We had the good fortune of connecting with Josefina Bashout and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josefina, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Initially, I didn’t realize that entering into the wellness space that I was also choosing to enter into a career artistic and creative expression. I had worked previously in the interior design field for 10+ years which is filled with creativity and possibility which is actually why I loved it! The design potentials were endless, the designs were luxurious and LUXE so I loved being around that type of wealth dedicated to creating beauty. The inside of someone’s home speaks a lot to the inside of their soul- what makes them light up with passion and allows them to feel relaxed and to get to know a person or family on that level is really cool as well as privilege. In design, there is no right or wrong way to create a space as long as it speaks to the client and the designer makes it functional, there is so much room to play. There is so much freedom in a creative career and when I made the jump into the health and wellness space I wasn’t sure how my creative fire would stay lit however I knew that a new passion burned inside of me to help others. I took my design skills and flipped it on its head by now helping others design their inner world instead of focusing on their outer world. As a Tantric Love & Sex coach as well as hosting Femimimne Empowerment Seminars worldwide, it has given me the opportunity to create my own artistic platform to share my message in a way that sparks joy in others through poetry, multi-media, dance, and photography. Creating my own path has been a creative edge for me to lean into that has been very fruitful & creating lots of opportunities for me to grow.

I finally realized that my work was considered not only unconventional but creative when Julia Chaplin referenced me in her latest book “Boho Manifesto” as she explained the importance of having a creative title for your work. I was really honored to see my name along with my creative title “The Pussy Priestess” listed for my work in Love & Sex coaching. Its been such a blessing to merge my passion + purpose and find new creative ways to showcase my teachings as well as a platform to express my movement as a healing art benefitting both myself and the world. In the end i didn’t pursue this career, it was. calling that came for me that i trusted and followed and along the path more pieces were revealed to me in one divine plan where my childhood dreams of being a dancer has met my creative skillset of design which then made love to my hearts calling to help humanity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art has many forms of expression from writing, poetry, movement, drumming, and photography depending on how my creative energy desires to be expressed. I created my entire consulting and coaching company from a creative idea and dream that didn’t exist and literally created a career for myself that didn’t exist before. That is the power we have when we access and trust our creativity. I truly see myself as a healing artist because my dance/movement helps to heal parts of other women who come to dance with me. My poetry heals the hears and awakens the souls of everyone who comes to a performance of mine or listens to me speak. plan photoshoots every 3-4 months so that I can keep creating fresh content to convey new ways of seeing & feeling the divine feminine expression.

I plan to write a book so my art will take the form of storytelling which is the hardest part for me right now. Sitting down and actually piecing together my book as a story from all the years of chapter writing I have done and call the book complete without constantly wanting to add more to it.

I get so many creative ideas- I write so many poems, chapters of my lives story as lessons for others to learn and grow from yet to string it all together into one epic story with the right sequences of events when there are so many to choose from is given me the chance to refine how I desire to tell my own story. We are the writers of our lives movie in every moment- we are creating our reality through the stories we tell ourselves about life, people, love, ourselves- knowing this spiritual truth, let’s make sure that we write a story where we win at our own fantasy because its all made up from inside of us! Our creative life force energy & attention is whats gives it life and if we believe something to be true- it becomes true. That’s how much creative power we have in our lives.

I have recreated, reinvented, and rediscovered myself so many times that I know anything is possible and that excites me to know that I can manifest anything that I desire- and so can you!! A lot of times it’s scary to share our creativity for the fear of rejection from the people closest to us but we need to share it and follow our creative bliss at all costs because it leads us to gold that is waiting for us and you will discover bliss waiting for you to claim it. It has always been worth it to pursue what lights my heart and soul on fire and when i don’t, i actually feel a lose of creative life force energy because I’m repressing it. May we all taste the sweetness of liberation and have the courage to express our gifts.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a big shoutout to my family, the Bashouts! I also say that my family has been a huge support for me – without their love, guidance, comfort, and motivation in me to create my dreams even when they seem to far away has given me so much strength.

In regards to my career, I have to give a massive shoutout to one of my mentors Regena Thomashauer aka “Mama Gena” who is also the author of a NY times best-selling book “PUSSY: A Reclamation.” She is a mega force and feminine icon that has paved the way for women like me for 20+ years and is still going strong! She is a pleasure revolutionary and has inspired me through her on-stage presence, her deep wisdom, teachings, and her unabashed expression of fabulousness with a take no BS approach. She speaks her truth for all women who may not have a voice and empowers pussy worldwide. She has inspired me to own my body and my erotic pleasure in ways I never knew were possible for me in this lifetime. When I created my creative title as “Pussy Priestess” it happened the night before her book was released and I literally had zero clue this woman existed in the world. Whats wild is that within 24 hours of claiming my dharma/life path she appeared on TV and I was speaking about her book and I knew that was a massive sign for me to move ahead on my path! I have taken her classes and received coaching within her community helping to keep me connected to my own guiding light & creative expression.
