We had the pleasure of connecting with Josh Fox and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josh, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
It happened right after the 2008 global recession when businesses were struggling to stay afloat, and the unemployment rate was skyrocketing. I had been the chair of my coop that had 400+ units and in my eight years of chairing I made sure not a single common cost went up. I started Bottom Line Concepts with the same goal in mind: to help businesses reduce their common costs without charging them any money upfront and instead sharing in the savings after the savings are realized.
What should our readers know about your business?
Simply put, we’re the nation’s leading contingency-based cost savings company trusted by an all-star client roster for over 10 years. We have a highly attractive value proposition that improves an organization’s cash flow organically, without paying us any money until they realize the savings first. In essence, our clients are our partners and we only benefit when they do. It’s one of those rare business models where every entity involved experiences a win, with our clients saving approximately $500M in the past decade.
We also believe in giving back. We started our charitable arm, Line Up for Charity, where we donate a portion of our fees directly to the charity of our clients’ choosing. Since inception, Line Up for Charity has contributed over $1M in donations.
Lastly, Bottom Line employs a highly solutions focused culture with a strong work ethic where our entire team is challenged and excited every day to engage in our meaningful work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I believe that in order to do well in life you must first feel well physically, mentally, and emotionally. I usually take my guests – friends and clients alike – to places where they can experience the true LA lifestyle: hiking, fun workouts, yoga, tennis, quality time preparing meals together at home, and relaxing with acupuncture or getting a massage.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents, who taught me the value of hard work, contribution, and humility, among other numerous and invaluable lessons. They sacrificed for my well-being and growth every step of the way, consistently putting me in the best position to succeed.
All our partners at BLC, whether direct employees, clients, BLEs, or referral partners that recognize the value of our offering and that help us save businesses and jobs across the globe every day.
My mentors and friends who’ve helped shape my mind and who continue to make my life a blast every single day!
