Meet Josh “jg” Germain | Actor & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Josh “jg” Germain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josh “JG”, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
From a very young age, I’ve always enjoyed putting on performances with my family and having to create characters that people can relate with and find themselves in. Whether it’s acting, modeling, or whatever creative endeavor I’m working at the moment, I truly have to feel like I’m doing my life‘s purpose, and adding value to people’s lives. A purpose that’s making an impact or being of influence to them, to change their life in a way that helps themselves and their families. Or I’m bringing people closer to their goals and what they have to do for their life‘s purpose because that’s what art did for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When it comes to art for people to see and enjoy, I’m very intentional on making the effort to continue to show up and create the best work possible because when it’s all said and done, it’s out there in the world for everyone to make theirs. Like Leonardo DiCaprio said “Pain is temporary; film is forever.” Whether that’s researching, rehearsing and cultivating a character in a way that’s authentic, for weeks or staying after long hours of shooting, to collaborate with the other creatives on the project, to make sure the final cut gets us feeling energized.
Getting to where I’m at today wasn’t easy. From driving from Miami, Florida with my brother across the country to pursue my dream of becoming the best version of myself in my work, as a family member and as a friend to those around me, will always be a virtue. I’ve had a few people not believe in the vision I’ve had for myself, loss some friends, and sacrificed a lot of quality time with family to be in LA. Whether I’m here or anywhere, I’ve learned to be just a little bit better than I was yesterday and to always have fun. Always.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Hollywood and walk down the walk of fame to see the crowds of people, beautiful lights and buildings that are around and grab some food. I love trying out different food and I’m sure because they’re here in LA, they would want to try some In-N-Out. I know there’s food better than In-N-Out but if you haven’t had it, it’ll change your life. So Sunday through Monday we’re trying out different foods like soul food, Jamaican food; get some burritos and all that good stuff. After, go to a couple museums in Hollywood, in Downtown or an amusement park and also travel around the city where there’s nice scenery and take some fire pics. Then we’ll go to the movies.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to recognize that I wouldn’t be where I am today without having Jesus in my life. I’m very thankful for my mother, my father, my sister Breana and everyone in my family that have continue to support me. And all the friends and community that have help me keep going when times get hard and continue to remind me of my “Why”
