We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea behind starting VibePrint USA came from a real passion for design and helping businesses stand out. I’ve always had a creative eye and a drive to build something of my own, but what really pushed me was noticing how many businesses struggled to find a one-stop shop for quality printing, signage, and branding services. Either the turnaround was slow, the quality wasn’t there, or the service felt disconnected.

With VibePrint USA, my goal was to create a company that businesses could trust from start to finish, whether they need channel letters for their storefront, a vinyl wrap for their company vehicle, or professional brochures to hand out. I wanted to offer more than just printing. I wanted to bring a full branding experience that’s both visually impactful and professionally executed.

It was about filling a need, but also about building a brand that genuinely helps other businesses grow and look their best.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
VibePrint USA started from a simple idea: to help businesses stand out through high quality printing and eye catching signage that truly reflects their brand’s personality. What sets us apart is our commitment to combining creative design with precise execution. We don’t just design, print or install we partner with our clients to understand their vision and deliver solutions that drive results.

Before I launched VibePrint USA, one of my first jobs in my early 20s was working at Fender Musical Instruments in Corona and Ontario, California, where I built, repaired, and inspected guitars as part of their quality control team. I’ve always loved music and working with my hands, and that job was a perfect blend of both. What I appreciated most was the level of precision and attention to detail required—it taught me to take pride in craftsmanship, embrace creativity, and grow as an artist. That mindset stayed with me and now shows up in the way we approach every project, big or small.

I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built with our clients and the trust they place in us for some of their most important projects. Every vehicle wrap, storefront graphic, or channel letter installation feels like a collaboration and an opportunity to help businesses grow and stand out. i really appreciate my clients who continue to support VibePrint USA.

Getting to this point wasn’t easy. I started my business during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when so many companies were shutting down or struggling to stay afloat. Launching a business in the middle of all that uncertainty was incredibly difficult. Resources were limited, clients were cautious, and everything felt unpredictable. But that challenge forced me to be resourceful, focused, and intentional with every move I made. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of resilience and adaptability. When things don’t go as planned, you have to find solutions quickly, stay focused, and keep moving forward. Surrounding myself with mentors, being open to growth, and putting client satisfaction first has been key.

What I want the world to know about VibePrint USA is that we’re more than just a printing company. We’re a team that values integrity, detail, and creativity. We’re passionate about helping businesses express themselves visually and professionally. As a small and growing business ourselves, we understand what it’s like to be just starting out — the risks, the hustle, and the dream. That’s why we go the extra mile to support other entrepreneurs and small business owners, doing what it takes to help them grow, build confidence in their brand, and keep moving toward their goals.

Our story is built on hard work, purpose, and the drive to keep improving. One project at a time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting from out of town, I’d want to give them the full Southern California experience sun, views, food, and great vibes.

I live in the San Gabriel Valley, which is situated between Los Angeles and Orange County. It’s the ideal launching point to explore the best of SoCal.

To kick things off, starting with a classic In-N-Out Burger. There’s just no better way to say “Welcome to California!” than handing someone a Double Double mine’s always with two whole grilled onions, chopped chilies, and the bun extra toasted. It’s simple, iconic, and a total must.

From there, we’d cruise down to Rancho Palos Verdes to soak in some of the most stunning coastal views around. The cliffs, the ocean breeze it’s pure SoCal magic. While we’re there, I always make a point to stop at Swan Thai. The food is incredible, and the view? Even better. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to sit a little longer and order another round of Thai iced tea.

Later in the day, we’d head over to Secret Island Tiki Restaurant & Lounge in Long Beach. its a fun secret bar with tropical escape vibes, live band with great cocktails makes it cool place to hang out

To wrap up the night, Seven Grand in Los Angeles is my go-to. It’s a great spot for whiskey lovers, with a cool vintage feel, live music, a cozy patio, and pool tables to keep the night going. It’s the kind of place where the conversation flows just as easily as the drinks.

From killer food to scenic views and good vibes all around, that’s my ideal weekend showing off the best stops in the area

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my parents.

My dad has always been a hardworking, resilient, and honest man. Anything he set out to do, he made it a point to learn thoroughly and excel at. From a young age, I watched him approach challenges head-on and push through until he figured things out. That mindset taught me not to shy away from big opportunities just because they seemed overwhelming. Whether it was through his work, fixing things around the house, or helping others, he always carried himself with integrity and grit.

When I began taking on larger projects for my business, he didn’t hesitate to step in and help. He would show up to assist with installations, even when the work was physically demanding or outside his comfort zone. He always brought a can-do attitude, and more importantly, he supported me mentally. He’d often offer insight when I was stuck, helping me look at situations from different angles and find practical solutions. Those conversations especially during stressful on-site moments helped shape how I lead and troubleshoot today.

More than anything, my dad passed down a set of core values: work ethic, resilience, and honesty. These aren’t just traits I admire, they’re the foundation I’ve built VibePrint USA on. I treat clients the way I saw my dad treat people with respect, transparency, and follow-through. That example continues to guide me in business and in life.

My mom also played a huge part in my journey. She was a huge supporter from the very beginning not just in words, but in action. She introduced me to the world of design. Back when I was in my early teens, I’d sit beside her at the computer while she worked on projects, and she would patiently walk me through how to use Adobe programs. She showed me how to use the tools, how to think creatively, and how to take pride in good design. Those early moments sparked my passion for graphic design and became the foundation of the creative work we do at VibePrint USA today. But beyond her teaching, she supported me in every way a mother could. She believed in me, stood by me when times got tough, and comforted me during the stressful moments that come with building a business from scratch. Her encouragement gave me the strength to keep pushing forward, even when I felt uncertain. She’s been one of my biggest inspirations both creatively and personally.

I also want to recognize Tom Rodriguez, owner of Tom’s Tailgate Mexican Grill, a restaurant located in La Mirada, California. He was one of the first people to truly give me a chance. At the time, I was just getting started and trying to find my footing. Tom trusted me with rebranding his restaurant, which became a major milestone for me. That project not only gave me early confidence and credibility, but also marked the beginning of a meaningful relationship.

Tom wasn’t just a client, he became a mentor and a friend. He shared valuable business advice, pushed me to think bigger, and constantly reminded me to stay focused on my goals. His belief in me, even when I was still figuring things out, played a major role in shaping the direction of VibePrint USA.

And on top of all that his food is awesome! If you’re ever in La Mirada, do yourself a favor and check it out.
