We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Tomsha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, is there something you believe many others might not?
I’d say the blanket idea of playing it safe. Change employers/jobs, take a month vacation, go for calculated risks. There are a ton of variables, but some people forget to live.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to keep things more realistic and natural to the true environment. What excites me the most is the idea of my photograph sparking conversation or jump starting the planning for a destination. I like knowing others are creating new memories. Networking has been the most important aspect of getting somewhere for me. All of my opportunities have incubated from people. I’d like to encourage everyone to take chances and go make memories.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First idea would be if there was some kind of festival going on, Cali Vibes, the Grand Prix and countless others. I’d take them to duffy Naples of Alamitos in Long beach. Beers in the Pike and Shoreline area. The best burger ever is at a Peruvian restaurant in Long Beach, Aji on Fourth St. Also would spend as much time exploring Catalina Island that we can, either camping in Two Harbors or hanging out in Avalon. They’d be waterlogged by the time I’m done with them.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The main person would be my mother. She provided the secure home for me to fall back on. The home was always there when a relationship didn’t quite work out, I spent all my money on travel or the long time it took me to figure out a career. A good book influence for me would be The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. His stories of multiple business ideas and uncommon hobbies influence the idea we could entertain life however we like.
