Meet Judy Ta | Business Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Judy Ta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Judy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business really came from a place of burnout. I worked in the corporate world for years—at companies like Goldman Sachs and McMaster-Carr—and while it was an incredible experience, I reached a point where I realized that hitting all the “traditional” milestones—like getting promoted, earning six figures, and climbing the corporate ladder—wasn’t actually fulfilling.
Growing up in poverty, I had to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. I thought that following the corporate path would help me build financial stability and eventually bring me happiness. And while it did provide a strong foundation, something was missing. The long hours and constant grind eventually took a toll on me. I didn’t even take my first vacation until I was 27!
At the same time, I was doing a lot of career coaching on the side. I noticed that so many of my peers, clients, and even friends were in the same situation—working nonstop, chasing promotions, and feeling burned out. They were prioritizing work over everything else, and I started to realize that this just wasn’t the way I wanted to live my life—or help others live theirs. That’s when the shift happened for me. Instead of helping people constantly job-hop or climb the corporate ladder, I wanted to show people how they could create a sustainable career doing what they love, without burning out. And not just for themselves, but to build something that could last for generations—a real foundation for generational wealth.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my ability to make complex issues simple, whether it’s streamlining operations, launching a business, improving financial strategies, or creating a work-life balance that supports both career and personal life. I specialize in breaking down overwhelming challenges into actionable, personalized solutions. While my expertise in operational strategy allows me to help businesses run more efficiently, I also work with startups to build sustainable, growth-focused foundations across every aspect of their business. Whether it’s setting up systems, improving finances, or guiding through early-stage challenges, I bring creative strategies, actionable steps, and the belief that success doesn’t have to come at the cost of your well-being.
Starting my business wasn’t easy. Overcoming fear and doubt, especially as a first-time entrepreneur, was a challenge. But the more I leaned into my creativity, focused on the right mindset, and applied the lessons I learned from my own journey, the more I realized I could help others do the same. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that there’s always a way to make things work—it just takes creativity and a positive mindset. Trust in yourself and the process is key. Small, consistent steps lead to big results.
What I want people to know is that you don’t have to follow a traditional path to build a successful, fulfilling life. You just need the right tools, the right systems, and a willingness to adapt—and that’s exactly what I help people do—create wealth, pursue their passions, and build a life they love. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’d love to connect and help you get there.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for the week, here’s how I’d show them my version of the best time in LA! From great food spots to fun activities, here’s a taste of what I’d recommend:
Day 1 – Chill Day
Start with lunch at Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr., for some delicious tempura. Afterward, head over to Class 5 for one of my favorite hobbies, rock climbing! — it’s a fun way to get active and maybe one day it’ll help me overcome my fear of heights . Finish the day with an all-you-can-eat feast at 92kbbq for a delicious and filling dinner.
Day 2 – Fun at Home
We’d kick off the day by making homemade dumplings and cookies together (because who doesn’t love a little DIY fun?). Then, we’d dive into some cozy gaming time playing Stardew Valley and other board games. For dinner, we’d hit up Tacos Los Cholos for some of the best tacos in LA.
Day 3 – Outdoor Fun & Good Eats
Lunch at a local farmers’ market for some fresh, seasonal bites (a great way to explore the local food scene). Afterward, we’d hit the wall at Cliffs of ID for rock climbing. Dinner would be either Pasta Sisters or Roberta’s, both offering amazing Italian food, and we’d finish the night with boba at Boba Guys.
Day 4 – Good Eats and Active Treats
We’d start with lunch at Pepper Lunch in Artesia. I’m obsessed with their garlic sauce. For dessert or a refreshment, I’d recommend stopping by 7 Miles as I love their strawberry n’ cream boba drink. Then, we’d either catch a movie or try something active like pickleball. For dinner, we’d enjoy some delicious Indian cuisine at Punjabi Tandoor, the place that made me love Indian food.
Day 5 – More Rock Climbing & BBQ
We’d head to Whole Foods for the incredible deal on oysters — 12 oysters for $12 on Fridays! After a little seafood snack, we’d go rock climbing again (I’m all about those climbing spots). Dinner would be at Chubby Cattle in Rowland Heights, where we can enjoy their delicious all-you-can-eat BBQ.
Day 6 – Pasta & Entertainment
For lunch, we’d head to UOVO in Marina Del Rey for a pasta tasting. Afterward, we’d catch a movie or go to Dave & Buster’s for some fun games. We’d wrap up the night with hand rolls at KazuNori— I love the freshness and simplicity of their sushi.
Day 7 – Exploration Day
On the last day, we’d just walk around and explore the city, trying any cool new restaurant we happen to pass by. Of course, we’d rock climb once more (I never get tired of it!), and finish the week with a visit to La Cha in Torrance for a fun drink-tasting activity, sampling a few of their drinks. One of my goals is to finish every drink on their menu – I’ve done this with other shops like Krak Boba before!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my brother, Kevin Ta, who has played a huge role in shaping my life and career. From a young age, he pushed me to think critically about my future, encouraging me to take my career and life seriously. He’s always been the first person I turn to when I’m facing big decisions or major changes.
When I first told him I wanted to start my own business, the first thing he said was, “I’m excited for you, and I know you’ll be successful. Do you need help with funding or support?” He didn’t ask for all the details of my business or what I was doing—he simply believed in me as a person and gave me the unconditional support I didn’t even realize I needed at the time. It’s rare to find someone who believes in you so wholeheartedly, and I’ll never take that for granted.
I know I don’t say it enough, but Kevin, thank you for always being there for me and supporting me without hesitation. Your belief in me has been a constant source of strength, and I’m incredibly grateful.
