Meet Judyta Pisarczyk | jazz vocalist & jazz vocal teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Judyta Pisarczyk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Judyta, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
The book I recently read is “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. I like this book because it explains the intractions of the human brain and encourages positive thinking in any situation.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I write my own compositions, but I am also a big fan of jazz standards and I really like to arrange and sing them. I have a couple of music projects, I perform with various artists and I adore this diversity. What sets me apart from others is an instrumental approach to voice, I think. I love to scat and interact musically with intrumentalists. For me this is the most exciting element of musical performance. I am most proud of never giving up and consistently following my goals. This requires patience and perseverance. How did I get to where I am today? It is a combination of musical predispositions, hard work, wonderful people I surrounded myself with and a great love for music. It was not so easy and I appreciate all my previous experiences. I treated every challenge as an development opportunity and that was my way to overcome this challenges. I have learned not to compare myself to others, but to myself from the past and in this way evaluate my progress. I want the world to know that I am wholeheartedly grateful that I can be a musician and do what I love in my life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take him to the jazz club “U Muniaka” – it is a most popular jazz club in Cracow with live music every night. Good musicians play there, usually my friends. I often jump on stage to sing a couple of jazz standars with them. We could also go to a concert at the ICE Cracow Congress Centre or at The Cracow Philharmonic. I would also show my friend such beautiful places and attractions like the Main Square, the Old Town, the Wawel Cathedral, Cracow’s Planty, Cracow’s Kazimierz, Cracow Eye. I would take him for a walk along the Vistula Boulevards. Next stop – a good movie in the Cinema Under the Rams. We would eat and drink at some of my favorie places – Charlotte, Youmiko Sushi, Primo, Forum Przestrzenie.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all, I would like to dedicate my shothout to my parents, who always believe in me and support my musical development. I would even say that they believe in me more than I believe in myself. Secondly, my teachers. I was lucky to gain knowledge from the great teachers. Thirdly, jazz music environment – my musical friends and artists who are a great inspiration to me.
