We had the good fortune of connecting with JuJu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi JuJu, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Taking care of self and being consistent with it. As a model you’re always on “go mode” and that means at any given time you may be called in for a casting or meeting and you have to be ready on the spot. So being consistent with making sure that I am properly taking care of myself inside and out by eating healthy foods, being active and of course religiously doing my skin care routine have helped me tremendously when it comes to success.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve done a multitude of different jobs as a model that range from e-commerce to editorial but I am most proud of the jobs that I booked for nationwide clients such as Sony, Champion, and Puma.
Leading up to the point of working for clients like Champion I would manifest and practice by doing photoshoots that emulated brands I wished to shoot for. It would often times feel like a full circle moment, and sometimes it took longer than expected to book those jobs, nothing happens overnight.
As I became more seasoned in the industry I learned a lot and let go of my expectations. The main part for me is to have fun and enjoy the people that I get to experience these moments with whether if it’s at a casting, fitting, call backs, or on set. Lasting connections are always made and that’s a blessing itself. My most important rule of thumb is that modeling has become more of who I am than me trying to “put on” a certain face to be a certain someone that I’m not..
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For breakfast or brunch we’d go to the Serving Spoon in Inglewood.
Lunch, Simply Wholesome.
Coffee break, Hilltop Cafe 🙂
A hike on Runyon Canyon.
For some satisfying art & relaxation The Underground Museum.Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad has been on my side with his 100% support throughout my entire career with no doubt so he deserves ALL of the flowers for that.
