We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea for my business came from, honestly, a sense of frustration. I was seeing limited results from treating people with just acupuncture. While it helped, I knew that real, lasting change required deep inner work—helping people become more self-aware and emotionally connected. Chinese Medicine taught me just how much our thoughts and emotions affect our physical health, but it’s something we don’t often recognize, and I wanted to tap into that. I also wanted to empower others through strength coaching, guiding them to build both physical and mental resilience. My goal is to help people create real transformation from the inside out, so they feel confident, empowered and supported along the way. Teaching is one of my greatest passions, and through this business, I get to share the knowledge that leads to meaningful change.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want to help people realize that change is always possible—and inevitable—and that’s a wonderful thing! My own life has been full of transformations that have reinforced this lesson. After college, I flew to Buenos Aires, Argentina, on a one-way ticket with just a backpack, one pair of shoes, and no set plan. While living there, I discovered Chinese medicine, astrology, and yoga, which completely shifted the direction of my life.
Three years later, I returned to the U.S. and dove into a rigorous, full-time acupuncture program that culminated in four board exams—the toughest tests I’ve ever faced. I spent years working in community clinics in Philadelphia, which helped me clarify my passion for creating a program focused on self-awareness and strength. But I reached a point where I felt like I had outgrown Philadelphia and was ready for another personal transformation. I sold my house and most of my possessions and moved across the country to Los Angeles. That was two years ago, and I’m still finding my footing here.
Each of these big shifts in my life made me who I am today. Of course, I felt nervous before every major change, but each decision left me feeling more resilient and confident. What I want the world to know is that facing your fear is always worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends visit, it always feels like a vacation for me too, as I’ve only lived here for two years and there’s still so much to discover. I would definitely take them for some people-watching at Echo Park Lake, maybe even a swan ride if I can convince them! We’d hike the West Trail at Runyon Canyon and then rejuvenate at a taco truck. I’d have to include coffees at Canyon Coffee and lunch (and more coffee) at Doubting Thomas. Thrifting at St. Vincent de Paul is a must, as is a trip to the west side for pasta at Uovo, followed by a bike ride along Venice Beach. And of course, we’d catch a beautiful sunset!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shoutout, first and foremost, to every student and patient who has ever trusted me with their care. I’ve learned so much from each of you. Your bravery in opening yourself up to learning something new and sharing your vulnerability inspires me every day. Your courage to embrace change is the reason I do what I do—thank you.
I am also deeply grateful to all of my teachers over the years. In particular, I want to acknowledge my herbal medicine teacher, Elizabeth Liddell. Her enthusiasm for the medicine and her ability to simplify complex ideas not only helped me grasp difficult concepts but also made me a better teacher. I also want to thank Justicia DeClue, who trained me in teaching yoga. The lessons she taught me 10 years ago still resonate today, and her grace in navigating challenges has given me the confidence to face my own obstacles.
