We had the good fortune of connecting with Jupiter’s Heat and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jupiter’s Heat, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
We connect very personally with the affirmation “Even baby steps move you forward.” As musicians, and creative people in general, it can be easy to get discouraged if a project that we’ve worked really hard on doesn’t get the amount of recognition we had hoped for, or if maybe a show doesn’t have the turn out that we expected. However, we find that finding joy in small successes such as finishing a well-written song, or posting a great cover online, helps it seem like our goals are more attainable. The trick is trying not to get overwhelmed by feeling how far away we are from our end goal. As musicians, we need to remind ourselves that art and creativity come in waves, and as long as we’re making our way up the staircase, even just one baby step at a time, we’re moving forward — and slowly but surely working our way towards accomplishing our dreams.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We recently released our newest single, “Love You Right,” and are extremely proud of the outcome. We have been a duo for a little over two years now, and this single is a true reflection of how far we’ve come in finding and developing our sound. Through collaborating with up and coming producer, Chicano Spaceship, we were able to create a sensual and feel-good song that our fans can vibe to. Through working on this song, we have learned the value of networking and making connections with fellow artists. We have also learned that when it comes to creating music, time and patience are essential in order to create something that truly reflects our brand and message. We now understand that we cannot rush the creative process if we want to create something that both us and our fans can genuinely be proud of. We want the world to know that even though it’s taking us a little bit more time than we planned, we pour our hearts and souls into everything that we create. And we can’t wait to show our fans some of the new and exciting things that we are working on!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Laguna Beach! Play guitar, do some beach yoga, explore the caves, watch the sunset!
Taco Tuesday! Cabo Cantina in Weho! (West Hollywood) Hit The Abbey after for drinks and Go-go dancers 😉
Hiking! You have to hike when in LA
We love Runyon Canyon, Eaton Canyon; But our personal favorite is Cooper Canyon in the Los Angeles Forest. Early bird gets the worm if you want to enjoy the waterfall all to yourself!
Venice Beach. Check out all the street artists and vendors, explore the shops, rent some bikes or scooters and ride the bike path. Walk the Venice canals.
Keep it local to the Long Beach area, Kayaking through Naples is awesome!
Hit up some of our favorite local music venue spots such as Good Bar, Hellada Art Gallery, Dipiazza’s and Alex’s Bar.Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d like to give a special shout out to our good friend Phoenyx (lead singer from local Long Beach band, Phoenyx & Phyre). Phoenyx has been an integral part of keeping the Long Beach music scene alive, even through the hardships of this pandemic. She started Pulsar Jams, by taking over outdoor areas with her generator, and hosting safe and socially distanced outdoor music events. Because of this we have been able to continue networking with other local musicians and local music fans. We are truly grateful to people like Phoenyx who continuously give of themselves, even through these trying times, to continue to empower musicians like us to share their art with the community.
