We had the good fortune of connecting with Justin Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk is the willingness to go heads up against fear and failure. I’ve always felt the best things in life are on the other side of fear. A fear that most people are afraid to conquer. You risk so much chasing your dreams and purpose. To be a successful creative/entrepreneur you must be willing to risk your time, comfortability, mental health, friends, family, leisure and financial stability. You must prioritize investing in yourself because if you don’t no one will. Life is a gamble so you might as well bet on yourself, doing something you love.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from other creatives has always been my willingness to be of service to other creatives in efforts to help them reach their goals. Helping others has pushed me further in my career than any one person I’ve met or opportunity I’ve ever gotten. Sometimes putting others needs before yourself is not the easiest but in the end it’s always rewarding.
Im most excited about the unknown journey ahead. I have learned to except all challenges and understand you won’t win them all but when you put God first and have alot of faith it gives me strength to when continue to push through. So even through defeats and disappointments, you realize sometimes you just fail forward until you win big. I have not an ounce of quit on me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most of my friends are from the South, so i love showing them the true essence of Los Angeles. The beaches, the hiking trails, the scenic city overlook views, the Hollywood sign, the walk of fame, and Beverly Hills. I love showing the different locations where famous movies were shot. Also how beautiful the palm trees, rolling hills, and vintage homes are in areas such as Mid City LA, Ladera Heights, Baldwin Hills and Inglewood.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Id like to recognize my older brother Jon Williams and gorgeous mother Brenda J. McGaughey. They have always been and always will be the most influential people in my life.
