We had the good fortune of connecting with K.D. Hancock and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi K.D., is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My mission is simply to connect the dots and elevate the humble geniuses around me. I believe as a born and bred la native that there are simply TOO MANY OF US. We don’t need to wait for any big corporations or major entity to offer a deal. We are everything! Doctors, Lawyers, Clergymen, Fighters, Rappers, Tech Minds, Spiritual Gurus, Businessmen, The whole lot! If we all connect with a goal in mind to help the homeless, the needy, the uneducated, the unemployed and be the voice they need. We will finally be a unified California.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would say my profession is an EMT. I earned my license six years ago in Moreno Valley. My first ambulance clinical was a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head, I was SOLD! Ive worked in ERs plasma centers and urgent care clinics. My end goal is flight nurse however I know it is a long journey so while I’m working on putting in the time in medicine I’m also focused on my dreams and visions.

I am currently a pro fighter. I had a seizure last year which would’ve been my first main event in MMA. I’m looking to make my return soon. I’ve taken a lot of losses but no major injuries or surgeries. I have to make a run!

However most importantly is my brand. “Flawless Chocolate” it is a beard and skin care line. “You can be flawless in any shade of chocolate.” I am still building this but this is the tool or engine I would say of my machine. Through this and other resources I am allowed to do my food and clothing giveaways.

Through my work with addicts and drunks I am able to give out food and clothes from orange county to South Central. As long as I have the time and resources I will continue to connect the dots and attack the issues that are running rampant in our California streets.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place in Los Angeles is always the beach. There is nothing on earth like the California coast. I would get a nice spot near the beach and we would eat tacos and ride bikes until we needed to surf! The most exciting places for me are always in Compton with my family. You will never know who you may see especially with the blessing Kendrick Lamar gave us this summer the city has never been so active and peaceful at the same time!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout-out is dedicated to all the humble geniuses I’m surrounded by. My sister Georgia who is a chef and teaches courses at Victor valley college. My wife Nicole who is a tech savvy self made social media presence and the family “go to” for all organization and events. Her whole family Danielle and Randy who are successful doctors, her father and brother Ed and Anthony who are both ministers and heavily involved in Compton and surrounding community, Her mother and sister Yvonne and Audri who are the nurturing spirits and glue that holds the unit together. My aunt Delilah and Uncle Ronald who taught me selflessness at an early age when they adopted my three cousins after Aunt Faye passed in the late nineties. All my cousins from Ronald to Martel, Tony, PJ, Marcus, Chili all the men who keep me inspired through their training, hustle, commitment and loyalty. Godfather Knox, my childrens godfather, my right hand. My Compton OG. A man of honor who always seeks to bring the best out of me. The man when I was in crisis shed tears knowing that I needed to transform and reach this new level. Reach this new glow. Serve my full purpose. This community. This world. Yeah and I guess pookie too. (My mom)
