We had the good fortune of connecting with Kabeer Kamran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kabeer, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Being unbalanced has been a big factor that improved my overall career. People seem to believe that having balance is mandatory when increasing their production skills, but I am totally against that mindset. This habit of producing music non-stop has burned me out occasionally, although I noticed that every time I do burn out my music turns out significantly better. It varies from person to person so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been producing for about seven years now and learned that staying in your comfort zone is a recipe for disaster. Trying different sound design techniques, mixdowns, and workflows may just be what you need to set you apart. It hasn’t been easy gaining support for this project since it took me a long time to decide whether I wanted to pursue this as a career. I have been slowly growing recently only because I have decided to keep this unbalanced lifestyle of producing constantly and pushing my brand. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that producing can be done in any way you want. Limiting your production skills or master can be what’s holding you back. Don’t be afraid to try another producers style because it’ll eventually lead to your own. I want everyone to know that KUCES is a project that is going to push a new heavy/melodic dubstep sound and wont stop pushing until its a name you’ll remember.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Currently I live in the state of Virginia and one place I love going to is our amusement park, King’s Dominion, with friends and family. Usually I love to hang out with my older siblings even with my friends and going out to watch movies with them unless its the new Batman. My current favorite fast food chain would have to be Chipotle so I’m taking you there no matter what. Where most of my time personally has been spent would be at home on my PC playing Rainbow Six Siege or Warzone with the boys.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This project called KUCES was inspired by Ron Kamran, also known as RAK. He brought me to the dubstep scene and has been supporting me ever since. We both started producing hip-hop/rap beats but later found ourselves having more fun with dubstep. He has helped guide me in the right direction, shown invaluable amounts of support for my project, and has been an even greater brother than I could have asked for. I also want to give credit to NVRT, Dvlta, Aufade, Soul Valient, and Garrison. They have been there motivating me to push out music and have also been there since the beginning.
