Meet Kaci Johnson | Owner and Lead Coordinator of Xoxo Weddings

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaci Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaci, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe that it all comes back to “like attracts like.” I have always had a very strong, diligent work ethic, and every Xoxo Team member sees all of the energy, time, and effort that comes from me. They all know what is expected of them, and they truly love what they do. When I first started everyone that I added to the team was my bride at one point in time, so they experienced it first hand. They knew how every couple should feel like they are your only couple. They knew that an open line of communication is all that any couple really wants. They knew that on the BIG day they were never going to sit because there was always something to do. Because of all of this, I have built an extremely solid team, and we all have each other’s backs.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I think back when I first started wedding planning, and it is true what they say that everything has a proper time to happen in your life. I was in my late 20s and single, and I had an extremely huge drive to succeed. I was living alone and working two other jobs. I remember that turning on the TV was very rare. I know now that I needed that time to built the base of this company that I love so much! Now there are new challenges, but I have learned to breathe and take a beat when needed. It was not easy, but I don’t think it should be. All of the hard work is what makes this company so special!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think I am going to show my age in my response…

My husband and I finally bought our first house, so that is the first stop! Besides being very proud of this accomplishment, my husband has built a spa in our backyard. (this is how I spend the day after weddings!). We also have a pretty good coffee game going on, so I would make them the best coffee I know right in my kitchen!

Then, LA has so many amazing food options, but Sugarfish is always at the top of the list! Uovo is a very close second, so we normally have to go to both places.

Even though most of my friends have been to the Promenade, The Grove, and other places like that…I still love a good stroll even if it is just to people watch:)

Finally, I have to let them experience a Thai massage. Can you tell that my free time is based around relaxing:)

To my mom, Candy Mallat
She was my biggest fan, supporter, and teacher. She lost her battle with breast cancer in 2023, but she still is a huge part of my success!
