We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaci Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaci, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I would say for the first 10 years of this business there was no balance. I recently told my husband that when I was living alone I never knew the Apple TV remote had to be charged. That is how little I turned on my TV! However, I look at it now that all of that hard work paid off. I set myself up for success. I build this well oiled wheel that can function without me there 24/7. I used to want every single full planning couple the company booked. Now, I love seeing my other leads successfully executing them when I have a weekend off. Don’t get me wrong, I thrive with a healthy work load, but I like stopping before midnight each night!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think Xoxo Weddings is different from other companies mostly for our work ethic. I have told all of my lead coordinators that anyone can take our forms/documents, but it is the individual that makes all of our structure work. We go the extra mile when it comes to our clients. That cannot be taught. It has to be within every single person on the team, and I can tell you that my team is amazing!
It wasn’t easy!! It is hard to figure out who fits in your brand. This job is not easy, and it is not for everyone. Not everyone made the cut, but the ones that did really love the work.
I have learned that since this company is “my baby” that it will always be more important to me than anyone else. It took me awhile to realize this, and not get upset that others didn’t care as much as me. Mothers will always love their babies the MOST!
I want the world to know that Xoxo Weddings will treat your wedding like their own wedding. We will work hard, but be honest with you at the most important times:)

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA is a great place…and this list could get long;)
Sugarfish for the BEST sushi
Uovo for the BEST pasta
Bacio di Latte for the BEST gelato
Pantages Theater for a show and the amazing architecture
Simi Valley Dog Park because I am a dog mom now
My spa in my backyard!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank and dedicate this to my husband, Bryan Johnson. He is my biggest supporter and advocate. He has shut my computer when I shouldn’t be working anymore. He has cooked many dinners when I have been on calls until 9pm at night. He is the first person to brag about my accomplishments. I just love this man so much!!!
