Meet Kadesh Wyche | Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kadesh Wyche and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi KADESH, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important thing that my business career has taught me is a bit cliche but very valid – enjoy the process. When running a race with the end goal in mind, often times those character-building moments are dismissed – sleepless nights, failed concepts, the discovery of new techniques, and the list goes on.
I view the process of developing art parallel to raising a child. Once nurtured to a point of maturity and growth, that “baby” no longer exists so you have to be present and enjoy the process.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a multi-disciplinary artist with a mission tasked to serve the people. I’ve been blessed to have many skill sets that I utilize to pour into the communities around me. From product design to teaching art therapy to students, “what is my give back” is always the mindset I lead with.
When I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design, I had this vivid idea of what my life would be. I would become a world renown fashion designer and get paid crazy money to do just that. As life began to happen and my wants and needs changed, so did my mission. I realized that my dreams and wants were bigger than myself and I began to move accordingly.
Having opportunities to use my artistic abilities in various areas whether it be the classroom, urban art projects, or my own personal projects, has shown me God will place you in the areas needed when its time. I do not question why I am in certain spaces anymore; I simply ask God for guidance through them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve never been an “itinerary person” but more of a “lets catch the vibe and see where it takes us”. Regardless of any particular area or location, food is always a must. Being a foodie I do not have too many specifications when it comes to where and what I eat. The most important things are the location’s abeyance, good food, and the opportunity to share ideas, laughter, and beautiful moments with good people.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my Shoutout moment to ALL the individuals God has placed on my journey to assist me along the way. I’ve always felt my vision and goals were not for me but for the people and I’m forever grateful for those who’ve contributed to the woman/designer I’ve become.
