Meet Kadie Bogart | Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kadie Bogart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kadie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I grew up in a family run business that my grandfather started. The business continues to be in our family, with both my parents having owned it and now my brother. I saw the hard work that my parents put into building it but I also saw the reward. This was something that I was willing to take on when starting my private practice. While I learned theories and how to do the clinical work, running a private practice is not something they teach you in graduate school. I did a lot of learning on my own and continue to do so.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Thank you for the opportunity to share more about my business! What sets 310 Family Therapy apart is my commitment to the families that I work with. My business was born from a simple idea: to provide a safe space for children and parents to navigate through the struggles and emotions of life.
I wanted to do things differently—not just better, but more thoughtfully, more intentionally, and with heart. 310 Family Therapy its a reflection of passion, perseverance, and purpose.
Getting here wasn’t easy. Like many small businesses, I started with a vision and a whole lot of determination. There were setbacks and moments of doubt. The pandemic being the biggest challenge I have faced in my 12 years of private practice. Transitioning to telehealth with the population that I work with was a struggle. But through it all, I stayed rooted in my “why”—and that made all the difference. I’m proud of the impact I’ve had on the families that I have worked with.
I am excited about the future of 310 Family Therapy and grateful for every step that brought me here.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Breakfast burritos to start! Which one? Tough choice… Great White. Baran’s. The Butcher’s Daughter. Lily’s. Thank goodness we would have a week!
I have a passion for wine and even dream about owning a wine shop! I would take my best friend on a little wine tour in the city, perhaps even venturing to Los Olivos or Paso Robles.
If this is their first trip to LA, I would take them to Abbot Kinney for shopping and lunch at Gjelina.
I’d love to play tourist with them and visit places that I have never been before… despite living here for 20 years!
A bike ride along the ocean!
Taking them to a show at one of the many iconic LA landmarks would also be on the itinerary. The Troubaduor. The Hollywood Bowl. The Viper Room. Aviator Nation Dreamland. So many good options!
And how in a city with so many choices how would I choose where to go to dinner… Mother Wolf, Felix, Terroni, Marvin’s, Superfine… the list goes on and on.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am today without the support of my parents. They set an amazing example in more ways than one. Not just when they owned a business, but the way they are involved in their community. They truly have some of the biggest hearts when it comes to giving back.
As a clinician, I have to give a shout out to Lisa Margolis at Providence St. John’s Hospital. She has helped to shape me as a therapist. Together we run a community mental health program and what I have learned from her is invaluable.
And my shoutout would not be complete without acknowledging my incredible fiancé, Frank!
