We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaley Weil and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaley, what matters most to you?
Empowering female sexuality, embracing diversity and promoting body positivity are the values that are most important to me and my work. I strive to create compelling, exciting and accessible artwork that empowers all different kinds of women because I believe that every woman should be able to do whatever she wants with her body without judgement, shame or fear.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a feminist artist who primarily paints the female body, I strive to create art that embraces, recontextualizes and reclaims traditionally objectified figures and marginalized bodies. My goal is to empower women by promoting inclusivity, diversity, body positivity, and the destigmatization of female pleasure and sexuality.

I found myself intrigued by the world of NFTs because of the challenge it poses to the conventions and institutions of the art world that have historically exploited and excluded artists from profiting off their own labor. Excited by this new medium, I began thinking about the opportunity it presents for me to communicate what it means to be a woman in the digital age.

As a result, I founded the NFT collective, “The Girls That Get It.” This project’s function is to amplify and disseminate a message of empowerment and inclusion and to destigmatize female sexuality by disrupting the male dominated NFT space. Our goal is to create a strong and inclusive community that supports and encourages other women within and beyond the web3 space.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would make sure to take them to my favorite restaurants; for brunch, the Beverly Hills Hotel and Chateau Marmont and for dinner, Nobu, Il Pastaio and Catch L.A. During the day, we would go to the beach in Malibu and visit The Broad Museum and at night, I would take them to one of the best views overlooking the city on Mulholland drive.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my project manger and best friend, Brooke Harter. Her knowledge, hard work and friendship has made this NFT project possible and I am incredibly grateful.
