We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalila Hermant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kalila, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The sacrifices that are made daily & they think it’s easier said than done.
They believe one’s you’re in you can work at will.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think being from a small country in Europe (belgium) where dance is not at all a thing, it’s beautiful to see that people, like me, somehow, find a way and courage to pursue our dreams.
Being a fanatic of sports and especially fitness is something that seperates me from a lot of people.
And my unique look (moroccan/belgian) is definitely something that brings people curiosty
My main focus right now is find a way to connect both worlds.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would for sure bring them to the gym with me EVERY SINGLE MORNING
O. Sundays i would bring them to the cute Melrose MARKET and stop at Uba tuba right across.
If they wanted to grab food and chill outside with a noce little bu fire I would bring them to Pitfire in North hollywood.
And i would definitely go to my all time favorite coffee place calle AMP.
I love nature and getting away from the industry so i would probably plan a little weekend at big bear, Sequoia or Big sur.
These spots are just BEAUTIFUL.
My friends. Are very simple people who love playing board games while listening to music and catch up, so we would probably spend a lot of time home doing that.
And if the weather is nice of course we would enjoy the pool and the beautiful beaches.
My dancer friends from home would also DEFINITELY want to take classes so that would be on our checklist as well haha
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All the people I’ve crossed paths with somehow helped me to beocme the person I am today.
