We had the good fortune of connecting with Kam Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kam, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I’ve been fortunate to build a community for athletes who were like me. Athletes who want more than just their sport, want more than just dribbling a basketball and running on the field or track. Athlete Creator Lab has made athletes thousands of dollars and has helped build lasting brands that they can take with them after they’re done with their sport.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business operates at the intersection of sports, media, and ownership. Through Athlete Creator Lab and VidPort Sports, we help high school and college athletes build personal brands, grow their audiences, and monetize through NIL opportunities, but more importantly, we teach them how to think like entrepreneurs. What sets us apart is that we don’t chase one-off deals; we build infrastructure. We focus on education, community, and long-term monetization systems that outlast an athlete’s playing career. I’m most proud of the community we’ve built, hundreds of athletes across multiple sports who are learning to see themselves as more than just competitors, but as creators and business owners. Watching an athlete land their first deal or gain confidence in telling their story is just as rewarding as any revenue milestone.

It hasn’t been easy. Building in a new industry meant educating brands and athletes at the same time, testing offers that didn’t convert, facing slow traction, and refining our positioning over and over again. There were setbacks, unanswered emails, and moments of doubt, but I leaned on discipline, mentorship, and relentless execution to push forward. The biggest lessons I’ve learned are that clarity creates confidence, community compounds faster than transactions, and how you do one thing is how you do everything. I want the world to know that my brand is about ownership, ownership of your story, your platform, and your future. This journey hasn’t been overnight, but it has been intentional, and we’re only getting started.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I credit much of my foundation to my father, who has been an entrepreneur for over 30 years. I had the privilege of witnessing his highs and lows firsthand, asking questions, testing ideas, and learning the technical mechanics of building and sustaining a business.

At the same time, my high school basketball coach instilled principles that continue to shape my success today. He taught me discipline, attention to detail, and what it truly means to lead by example. Most importantly, he ingrained in me the belief that how you do one thing is how you do everything.

I firmly believe that lasting success in business requires both elements: the intangibles, unwavering belief, discipline, resilience, and the technical knowledge to execute with precision.
