We had the good fortune of connecting with Kanako Gendler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kanako, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I worked as a restaurant chef in Japan for many years. I became a full-time housewife after giving birth, but my desire to help others through food became stronger, so I decided to start my own company.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
With over a decade of experience as a professional cook, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her passion for cooking. After starting a family, I have devoted nearly 10 years to preparing daily meals for my loved ones with a focus on their health and well-being. Driven by my love for cooking and desire to serve others, I have crafted a high-quality Original Garlic Chili Oil that is the perfect addition to any kitchen. In the Bay Area, where people are highly attuned to the impact of food on the body, my oil is made with only the finest ingredients and is guaranteed to elevate your daily cooking.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really like and recommend the Harbor at Half Moon Bay! Depending on the season, you can get fresh squid, anchovies, dungeness crab and king salmon!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
People who want to try again and are thinking about returning to society.
