Meet Kari Schwear | Executive Lifestyle Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kari Schwear and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kari, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Such a great question. My business found me! I wasn’t seeking to start my own business and that’s how I know it’s a God calling on my life. I was led to serve others and have truly found my purpose in life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business was born out of my own desire to see something in the world that didn’t exist…an outlet for professionals that are questioning their relationship with themselves, their career, their personal lives, and especially with their relationship to coping aids like alcohol. I call these areas the GRAY areas in our lives, not bad but definitely not where they deserve to be.
My gray area story began with my love affair with wine that led to having gray areas in my personal and professional life. It was the frustration of not having an option outside of AA that led me down this path. I didn’t choose it, it chose me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my friends visit, the first place I take them is to the mountain region. The rolling hills, the incredible views and hiking trails are the place to be. It’s God’s country and reminds us how incredible it is to be alive. Next, I’d take them to the River Walk downtown to see the mural paintings and to one of the top restaurants in the immediate area. We are blessed to have many!
Because our city has great theaters, I’d take them to a show, and lastly, to my favorite dessert shop where there is no better place to taste a decadent piece of cake or a heaping scoop of rich ice cream.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s very difficult to pinpoint just one person (besides my amazing husband, Rob), but I’d have to say my friend, Stephanie Lennon. She was extremely kind to me after I made the decision to quit drinking in 2016. She recommended the book, Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod that began my journey into self development. It was the #1 book that helped shaped a life-giving morning routine that led me to where I’m at today. I’m so grateful!
