We had the good fortune of connecting with KaSandra Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KaSandra, what do you attribute your success to?
Selflessness is the bridge that leads us to compassion and unity. Being selfless has taught me a powerful lesson in universal connection and authenticity. My work has sustained and thrives because I actively choose to share my unique sets of gifts, talents and wisdom with others as divine offerings. I actively choose to heal so that I can help my soul family heal themselves and help them tap into their own divinity and authenticity. MAGICK OF EDEN is a safe haven that welcomes anyone whose intentions are to transcend beyond their suffering and traumas and to reclaim their divinity through art, ritual and self-care magick. My undying love for humanity is the driving force that makes sharing my magick with the collective possible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Poetry merged with magick has revealed the truest and most authentic parts of my being and is what I use to connect with others and the Divine. The intention behind my writing is to reveal my gifts and talents to create a world of self-love and unity. The purpose of my poetry is to reveal the intuitive journey of becoming whole and to reclaim my divinity through magick and self-expression. One of my proudest moments by far in my work is publishing a poetry book called, “Eden: Reclaiming Your Divinity through Poetry and Self-Expression”. I was extremely vulnerable and gave readers an up-close seat at the table of my pain and some of the most intimate parts of me. I expressed my thoughts and past to ensure an intense and authentic connection between me and soul tribe. I revealed the intuitive journey of becoming whole and reclaiming my divinity through an eloquent sequence of alliteration and imagery. The tone of my poetry is intense, raw and unfiltered in order to trigger the depth of the readers’ emotions and intuition. In the book I begin with an intense expression of unfiltered emotions and childhood traumas that crescendos to a transformative, regenerative and healing ending. My first time performing in front of a crowd at The Beatnik Café in Los Angeles was extremely nerve wrecking! I read a couple of poems from my book. Although people clapped, I didn’t feel I gave it my all. I went back a second time to redeem myself. I wrote a poem specifically for performing and to my surprise, everyone LOVED it. It was a proud moment in my history! Lots of individuals introduced themselves to me after addressing me by name and expressed how much they loved my art and delivery. (Laughs proudly). It was a validating moment, but I was proud of myself for projecting my will into the universe and making that turn of events possible.

Being a single mother of two children, homeschooling, running a business, being a poet and entrepreneur and perfecting my craft as a witch comes with extreme willpower, dedication and discipline. One of the most difficult obstacles I faced at the beginning was getting adjusted and committing to a schedule especially after moving to Virginia. Consistently sticking to this strict schedule is what helped and currently helps me maintain my energy and enhances my productivity.

Showing up and being authentic was not my strong suit at the beginning of my journey. I limited myself and muffled my voice because I felt that my voice and spiritual insights were not as valid as anyone else’s. I have always been in love with my poetry, yet I also felt that it didn’t fit into any standards. Even though my intentions were (and remains) pure and of a high vibration, I felt that the world wouldn’t benefit from me. That there just wasn’t enough room for me and what I had to share. I would always revert to what I believed was logic and would sink into the teeth of social media and other outside influences. I was my worst critic and often faced many “8 of swords” moments; I would create my own blockages and fears because I felt that I wasn’t destined for greatness. I couldn’t emulate what I felt I needed to in order to reach others and honestly didn’t have the heart to anyway. Facing my own shadow was the most excruciating yet rewarding processes I’ve ever experienced. I learned very quickly that we are all expressions of the universe and that we’re experiencing each other through one another. Our own sets of gifts and talents make us unique and showcase our individuality. Our individuality is our true identity.

I am always passionate about diving into the occult, witchcraft and merging the arts of poetry of magick. That combined with my selfless attitude and undying love for humanity is the legacy I wish to leave behind in this world. I want my love of art, philosophy and magick to show throughout my work. Most importantly, I want the world to know that my purpose is to help lead others through their shadows and aid them on their transformational journeys in the best way I know how. The MAGICK OF EDEN brand is all about tapping into your highest self authentically and unapologetically. It is more than just a brand. It is a source of love, unity and connection.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

We absolutely HAVE to spend time in Long Beach. The people, the city, the night life and the overall energy is such a VIBE! We’d have to start the week off with some spiritual shopping. I’d take my bestie to Shades of Afrika first. Renee, the shop owner is so loving and welcoming. Her shop is clean, aesthetically pleasing and she sells high quality spiritual essentials. Shopping with her is always an experience. Seabirds Kitchen is across the street from there. That vegan restaurant has the BEST jackfruit nachos I’ve ever indulged in! Not to mention the staff members are friendly and professional. Now, you know I’m all about poetry. So of course, we’d visit the Beatnik Café and catch features perform their work. There are also other open mic nights to visit like Da Poetry Lounge. When we’re feeling a bit more excited and social, the Hollywood Bowl is a must. Talk about the best time ever? The quality of performances from artists is truly cosmic.

Alright. Let’s get just a tad bit spooky here. We’d visit the Queen Mary without debate, hahaha! There’s so much history and memory contained on that ship. Imagine staying overnight and being awake during the witching hour. I’m here for these kinds of experiences. I’m sure my bestie loves me enough to say yes to being spooked for a night! (My best friend is also a Scorpio. And Scorpios are all about that mysterious energy.

Rancho Palos Verdes Beach will always have my heart. The view of the Pacific Ocean is beyond mesmerizing. Gazing into the sight of the sky kissing the ocean is therapeutic and addicting. It’s peaceful and an amazing place to connect and ground. Palos Verdes is a beautiful city overall.

One last place I’ll mention is the area, Venice. It’s more of a bohemian kind of vibe. There are lots of things to see along the boardwalk including street performers and craftsmen. Heading towards east is where you’d find lots of boutiques, restaurants and art galleries.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My former and deceased husband, Robert, was my passionately dedicated divine soul mate. His compassion, understanding and kindness always led me to believe in my abilities despite how much I tripped into the claws of fear. We were connected since I was seven (he ten); he played a major role in my spiritual development. He is the love I will always honor and cherish. My two young boys, Rakiem and RaShaud for teaching me patience because OH MY! (laughs in parent). My Mother, Connie was my main teacher in ways I never knew I needed. We learned together through major trial and error. She taught me a powerful lesson in selfless love. To my soul sister, Desiree. She held my hand through my grieving process. We learned and grew through our bond and spiritual connection. My soul sister, Arlexis for always hyping me up and reminding me to fix my crown. The magnitude of her love can be felt through her passion and vibes. My soul sister, Michelle. She saw the light in me and was a divine channel for Spirit who gave me love and divine guidance that is currently reflected in my work and in how I show up now. Lastly, to each and every individual in my soul tribe (not mentioned by name). I implement everything I learn through our interactions into my work and traces of their belief in me can be felt in my craft. I love them all, deeply.
