Meet Kate Moore | Co-Founder & International Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kate Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kate, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The Global Career Center bridges education and employability with bespoke programs developed and delivered through partnerships. The most important factor behind our success? Putting partnerships at the forefront. Whether a university collaborator, employer partner, student participant, global team member, or industry colleague…we are looking towards and working for the long view and greater mission. Our collaborations are based on relationship rather than transaction.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Global Career Center builds upon the experience of individual contributors and brings together colleagues from previous iterations and organizations. We draw upon our expertise and enthusiasm to connect student education with applied learning in global settings. Our team is very proud to provide a high level of support to each student and the organization’s commitment to customized programs requires us to be nimble, consultative, persistent and curious. The work itself is not always easy. We love what we do and love sharing it with a community of global colleagues.
The work is focused on international internships, global education, applied learning, team-based projects, and professional placements…including the context from campus, at company, and in community. Just as important to GCC? Building and supporting a global team of colleagues through meaningful mission-based work. Looking at HOW we work together makes WHAT we deliver that much stronger…and fun!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite way to get to know a city? Is launching it as a GCC location! Seriously, have been able to explore locations ranging from Singapore to Prague to Atlanta…with an eye towards living and learning while making the most of the place. All research? Through locals…can’t miss restaurant, hardest to find dive bar, hometown musician, visiting artist, best coffee, worst sports team, etc. I like to take a book based in the city to a local park and visit sites from an iconic movie. My favorite part? Asking people from the city what makes the city special and realizing those conversation can be part of official networking events, through lecture discussions, or based on random encounters. It is a formula to plan a trip but every location is special and unique.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am consistently inspired by the students we work with each day. They are entering a challenging and changing world and our team is humbled to provide them with a place for learning, experience and conversation.
