We had the good fortune of connecting with Katelyn Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katelyn, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I believe that embracing the mentality of being a beginner has been the single most important decision I have made for myself that has led to my success. Being open to learning new things and taking risks is essential for developing new skills and interests. It enables one to think outside the box, expand their knowledge, and grow as an individual. Realizing that it was acceptable for me to approach a new environment with no prior knowledge and still succeed was a crucial mindset shift that has contributed to my success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a multifaceted individual with experience in photography, graphic design, and other creative endeavors. I have sought to explore and expand my creative interests without restriction. To reach my current level of accomplishment, I have embraced life and discovered new passions along the way. My fashion merchandising and marketing background has provided me with the opportunity to learn more about my interests and meet inspiring people who have encouraged me to think outside the box and overcome obstacles. One of the challenges I have faced has been imposter syndrome, which I have managed to overcome by learning to recognize and appreciate every success, no matter how small. My drive and creativity are the qualities I want the world to know about me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to God for the countless blessings in my life. His presence and guidance have been instrumental in shaping the person I am today and have paved the way for the numerous opportunities that I have encountered. I am humbled and honored to be where I am today, pursuing my passions and striving to make a positive impact in the world. I know that without God’s grace and guidance, I would not be where I am today, and for that, I am forever grateful.
