Meet Kateryna Dronova: Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kateryna Dronova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kateryna, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is “What a dishonor to just bend down and obey fate” by Lesya Ukrainka. She is ukrainian writer and poet who has been proven the value of this aphorism with her own life as she was a very active participant of the nationalist and feminist movements in early 20th century Ukraine. For me this quote and the writer herself are an example of the unfolded power that a woman can posses. 

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my career as an actress in 2017. Almost immediately after I moved to the USA from Ukraine. At first I was embarrassed to go to auditions. I was ashamed of my accent and the fact that I have no experience in acting. Thanks to my husband, he supported me at the very beginning of my journey, instilled confidence in myself. He helped me learn the roles, even advised me what to wear to the audition. Gradually when I getting new roles, my self-confidence grew. Yes, I have an accent, yes, I am a beginner. But I’m trying. And I working hard to go there. I took on any role as an extra too, just to gain experience. Later I went to acting class. Its also helped me hone my acting skills. I’m currently taking a scriptwriting cIass also. I want to try myself in this. I fell in love with world of the cinema.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Personally I love few spots in LA to visit. First of all it’s Descanso Garden. Calm, quiet place. Hidden gem. I often visit this garden, especially when I need to get my thoughts together. Second place it’s definitely Santa Monica pier. Fun, cheerful, full of people, laugh and smiles. And of course sound of ocean priceless. I also love restaurants with spectacular view. One of them Castaway in Burbank.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband always supports me in everything. Thanks to him I started my career as an actress. He is always here for me with words of support or to lend a helping hand. I am happy that he is there not only as a husband, but also as a partner, a mentor.
