Meet Kateryna Keleberda | Makeup artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kateryna Keleberda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kateryna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It was my dream to become a makeup artist and hairstylist, to show each woman how beautiful she can be. However, my parents didn’t support my idea and insisted that I pursue a good education first. As a result, I ended up attending Odessa State Economic University and spent many years working in an office job. Despite this, I never stopped watching beauty bloggers and tutorials, continuously fueling my passion for makeup. Finally, in 2016, at the age of 31, I decided to make my dream a reality.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
“My work is my passion! I have found the one thing that I am willing to do 24/7, even without getting paid. At the beginning of my journey, it was undoubtedly challenging. Completing courses was just a tiny fraction of what it takes. I had to practice on models every single day. It’s not just about applying makeup beautifully anymore; it’s about styling your entire look, selecting the right clothes, accessories, capturing stunning photos and videos, mastering lighting techniques, and more.

Staying up-to-date with trends while maintaining your own unique style is crucial. I want people to recognize my work instantly when they see it in their feed. But it’s not just about doing makeup; I also adore curating complete looks, selecting the perfect photos and videos, and editing them for social media. I am constantly learning new tricks and techniques.

The most important thing is to believe in yourself and always be willing to try something new

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, the most desired place for me right now would be my home. Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, I was forced to leave the country and relocate in USA . But now, I dream of spending even just a little time in my beloved city of Odessa with my close friends. I would love to visit all the familiar places – the sea, the coastline, the city center, and more. I miss home dearly.. My favorite thing is to stroll along the coastline with my friends or to have a couple of hot coffees together

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
At the beginning of my journey, unfortunately, very few people believed in me. Most thought it was just a frivolous hobby that I would soon give up. It should be noted that at that time in our country, this profession was not considered as prestigious as it is now. However, I had a few people who supported me wholeheartedly and were impressed by my early work, for which I am immensely grateful. I wish everyone had such people in their lives
