We had the good fortune of connecting with Katona Payne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katona, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I created my business for several reasons. I wanted to give my gifts and talents a lane to be utilized by others who could use them. I wanted to fulfill an immediate need for the everyday person who has a great brand idea who does not know how to bring it to life. I consider them idea visionaries. I wanted to create a safe space for entrepreneurs to learn, grow, create, and succeed out loud. I felt as though I had a nice balance of knowledge, skill, patience, nurturing, and the ability to lead, to create a business that serves as a guide to navigate what’s next for new and established entrepreneurs.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work?
I am a Business Strategist. I specialize in business development, branding, marketing, and content. As a strategist, consultant and multifaceted coach, I help develop and define the true elements of any entity to ensure they’re on the path to success. I will find ways to further enhance a product, service, project, campaign, company, or individual. What sets me apart is that I have experience in over 10+ industries. I’m also a multi-hyphenate who holds many skills that can be easily applied at any moment. This includes graphic design, web design, content creation, system building, IT, and strategy creation.
I’m most proud of the fact that I followed my gut and bet on myself to be of service to others. One of my proudest moments is when I was told “Thank you for believing in me when nobody would listen and now I can provide for my family.” I’m just excited that both myself and my business continue to get better and grow to reach more people to assist.
I believe I got to where I am by truly speaking life into myself and reminding myself I have to keep going. I also believe in remaining a student to catapult my growth as a professional within my industry. The journey itself hasn’t been easy but I pushed through anyway. I’d have to say, developing real-time management and systems for all the businesses I pour into, as well as the many hats I wear as an entrepreneur was very important. All while having to still be a motivator for myself and others. I have to remain on point in my self-development, being as though people are depending on me.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have an incredible community around my business who understands the impact of bringing a vision to life, one entrepreneur at a time. They’ve always supported me even when they didn’t have to. My parents support what I do and are there whenever I need them. They understand how important it is for me to help those who need guidance. I couldn’t have the impact I have without my team. They’re truly incredible and I couldn’t do it alone. Lastly, I have amazing friends who believe in me and who continue to root for me through this journey.
