We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Crugnale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, what do you want people to remember about you?
I think this is a two part answer for myself. The things I’m most known for and am proud to be known for is that I am unapologetically myself in every facet of life and also that I will always chase my dreams. Life is really not about monetary values, it’s about how you’ve made people feel and what they remember about you. I’ve made these two personality traits my whole personal brand. I’m never afraid to make something happen for myself, whether it works out or not, I fearlessly chase dreams whether little or big. I’ve also always maintained the person people get from me. I’m the same Kayla no matter the scenario – appropriately so of course- but if you want someone to just tell you what you want to hear I’m not the person for that.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I currently own two businesses – but have so many more ideas brewing ha-ha. First, my real estate business- Crugnale & Co. As I said before I started my career learning and from there grew and more recently got my brokers license to branch off on my own separate from larger firms. I am most proud of myself for always putting in the work to increase my knowledge, education and achieve my aspirations. My second business is my clothing store, PIA. Boutique. This was a lifelong dream of mine and the uncertain times of COVID really lit the fire under me to live out this dream. I went full fledge and opened a brick and mortar boutique for two years and recently decided to close the shop and move to e-commerce only. With both of these ventures my biggest struggle is my lack of self promotion. I’ve always struggled with this and it hurts majorly so I’m working to overcome that every day. I always want people to work with me/shop with me because they want to and because the service/product I put out is top-notch and not because I hounded them. However, over the years I’ve learned humans are a lot like goldfish and their memories aren’t that great so hounding them (tastefully) helps and doesn’t hurt.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am always a little biased because I believe I live in the best neighborhood of the city of Boston so we would of course first spend the day in the North End. We’d grab breakfast at Pink Carrot to fuel up and then walk the historic streets and harbor. Of course grabbing an espresso martini at a few different stops- ciao roma, florentine, cafe paradisio, etc. There’s so many cute shopping and culture in addition to the food. If it’s your first time in the city I always recommend seeing Fenway Park- how could you not and also going down to the esplanade to see the Charles River, views of Cambridge and major Boston views. Our city is so special I could talk about it for hours – Beacon Hill and all it’s hilly cobblestone streets and shops, shopping on Newbury street and of course our Boston Common and Gardens.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
WOW. This is a loaded question to me because I do not weigh the impact of others on my life lightly. When I first got into the real estate industry I spent so much time being a sponge and with that I got to be a student of honestly, most of the greatest faces in the industry. With that I learned exactly who I want to be in this industry and more importantly who I don’t want to be. My parents and closest friends also deserve a shoutout because every journey of life I go on they are so supportive and shoulders to lean on,
