We had the good fortune of connecting with Kazia/Robyn Cumbler/Murgio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kazia/Robyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As new mothers, my partner and I had experienced isolation, and insecurity about how we were doing as new parents. As we became seasoned parents, we wanted to creat a comforting, safe, non judgmental place for new mothers to be together, socialize, learn from each other, while learning things that could enrich their lives and their babies. This was the central goal, ideas evolved from that focus.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business was born from the idea of bringing new parents together to learning from each other, support one another, and discussing ideas of respectful, empathetic parenting. We want to be the support we would have loved when we were at the same phase.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the Culver City steps for some outside exercise. I would take them to do some Pilates with Aly Mattoon which is awesome, and I would take them out to eat at EK Valley, our favorite Mexican spot in Culver City.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We both learned under the knee of a wonderful mother’s group leader Tandy Parks that both of us separately took classes from with our first borns.
