We had the good fortune of connecting with AcidBat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi AcidBat, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My music and art is about pushing through dealing with mental health, being an empath , and talking about real experiences I’ve gone through in life opposed to making up a subject just to sing and rap about if it’s the latest trend. I’d love to be the artist people look back on and be like “wow , He knows what it’s like to start from nothing and feels what is like to be emotional in a “matrix” feeling type of world and to bring color and soul back into it.” With that being said , all I really want is for people to know that they are not alone and to keep pushing through because this universe has its way of working and everything always gets better as cliché as it sounds , I’m talking from first hand experience things always get better.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a single coming out May 5th called “These Demons ft Kage” Who is a good friend I grew up with playing in different bands together in the local desert scene as teenagers, he is an insanely talented musician and I’m stoked to have him on the track . I’m beyond stoked for this song as well because of the hard work blood and tears my production team in GladBoyProd and I put into it. The song tells a story about overcoming addictions , having a positive outlook on life and working towards manifesting your reality , and cutting out / making Healthy boundaries to people who treated you poorly. It is definitely a anthem sing Along. art and music Is purely based on how i was raised around my family , my mom / Grandparents Soley listened to classic rock from 70’s through early 2000’s . Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath , to Motley Crue , Slipknot , Linkin Park, all the way to the back street boys to Good Charlotte and blink 182. I also grew up around 90’s to 2000’s Rap from my father like Eminem , snoop dog, Ice cube, lil John , lil Wayne Etc. I always was Huge on Halloween as well with wearing masks / dressing up So the roots and theatrics Have always been there. I think what sets me apart is that i want to capture and revitalize throw back sounds With a splash of modern music and give people an actual show with a band and theatrics that go along with the music to watch rather then playing to playback and being reclusive on stage.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city huh? ha, that is a good question for me because I rarely go clubbing nor out anymore which is what tourists really like to do and check out but if one of my best friends came out on vacation, I’d plan out a rad week. We’d have to definitely have to hit up shows on the Iconic sunset strip at the whiskey and viper room for sure catching some friends in the la scene , then I’d for sure take them to the beach and have a bonfire or chill to feel the water and take in mother earth. I’m very blessed to live in socal by the beach because some people don’t have the luxury waking up and driving less the thirty to go to a beach. Next I would Take them on some awesome green forest Hikes that I’ve found with my wonderful partner I’ve never known existed out here such as point Dume in malibu , malibu lake trail , and Santa Ynez waterfall trail. Grub Is a little different and more in depth topic because I’m only plant based so it’s a little bit more difficult to find tasty good vegan restaurants but I do have a few in mind. for break fast I’d for sure recommend The Grain cafe. It’s like a vegan paradise for early morning food. For lunch and dinner I’d take them to either crossroads in Hollywood or Sage plant bistro in Culver city! both extremely yummy food places for anyone who isn’t opposed to the idea that there is non-bland tasting vegan food haha.
