We had the good fortune of connecting with Keisha Bloise and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keisha, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Back in 2016, I was a Clinical Scientist by day, deeply invested in the pharmaceutical industry. But after hours, I craved a creative outlet and was unable to shake the idea until I brought it to fruition. That’s when The Love Scientist was born, It was a space to explore the complexities of dating, particularly the rise of ghosting and a desire for deeper connections. Little did I know, a life-altering event would propel me on a path of self-discovery and following my heart.
The sudden loss of my mother, my best friend happened a year later. Grieving her loss was the most challenging experience of my life, but it also served as a powerful wake-up call: life is a precious gift and is too short to be unhappy.
This shift propelled me to pursue The Love Scientist with renewed passion and go all in as an entrepreneur. Initially focused on the dysfunctional dating scene, my mission evolved into a platform for a higher purpose. Today, The Love Scientist offers a unique blend of self-love, healing, growth, spirituality, and the powerful vibrations of sound healing. I share my experiences to help others to own their magic and claim their narrative.
This creative pursuit wasn’t just a career shift; it was a lifeline. It allowed me to process grief, connect with others, and ultimately, find my purpose. It’s a life where I help others find and define their love – the love for themselves, the love for their journeys, and the love for the magic they hold within.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m a published scientist turned life insurance broker, a passionate advocate for self-love, and a dream builder.
I’m the owner of two distinct, but complementary businesses: The Love Scientist and Vivid Envisions. I understand that true fulfillment requires both internal security – self-love and external security – financial planning.
The Love Scientist is dedicated to self-love practices, healing, and growth. Through my book, “Imperfect Self-Love”, uplifting messages, coaching and transformative sound healing practices, I’ve fostered a vibrant community where personal development is celebrated and loving the real you are embraced.
Vivid Envisions, on the other hand, focuses on securing families’ financial futures. As a licensed life insurance agency owner, I draw upon my empathy and understanding to guide clients through envisioning their future despite life’s plot twists, protecting loved ones, building enduring legacies, and familiarizing families with the power of life insurance during one’s lifetime.
I left corporate America about three years ago and was scared straight. I didn’t have a solid plan and walked out on faith after speaking to an old friend. I had to mentally prepare myself for the journey ahead, transforming what was once a distant dream into a tangible reality. There was nothing in the way of fully pursuing my destiny. Within a few days of quitting, life insurance kept coming up for me. I took it as a sign from the Divine. A stranger and a good friend of mine reached out about the opportunity. I never thought about being a life insurance broker, but life insurance knocked on my door when I desperately needed a change and the rest is history. As a result of this bold move two years ago, Vivid Envisions was birthed.
I strongly believe that it’s none of our business how things play out, but as long as we put in the work we can bring our dreams and ideas to fruition. As an entrepreneur, I’m most proud of the impact I’ve made on people’s lives, both through The Love Scientist’s self-love advocacy and Vivid Envisions’ financial planning services. I’ve honed my skills through entrepreneurial courses at Cornell University and the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, launched a successful self-love event, and safeguarded the futures of over 260 families. Coming full circle, I returned to my middle school as a keynote speaker, inspiring the next generation. Now, I’m paying it forward by mentoring college interns, and teaching them the ins and outs of running a business and the crucial role of life insurance.
I’m committed to continuous growth and see how my current success fuels a vision of what’s possible, and I’m just getting started. We will call this season, “the warm-up” for greater achievements to come.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would kick off the day with some meditation overlooking New York by taking a stroll through South Mountain Reservation to bring in the right vibes for the beautiful day that’s about to unfold. Then, we would head to Brooklyn to hit up the museum and have lunch at Republic Latin for some live music. Afterward, we would visit Mister Sundays for house music and end the night with some oxtail empanadas at Coppelia.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would dedicate my shoutout to my incredible parents, whose love and support have been my constant guiding light. I am eternally grateful for their guidance and direction. They allowed me space to be creative, express myself, share my funny jokes and operate in authenticity.
I would also give a special thanks to my amazing friends, loved ones, and village for always cheering me on and pushing me to reach new levels. I’m a firm believer in community. Their faith in my dreams and gifts have been instrumental. Everyone wants people to believe in them, and my heart is full knowing I have a squad who is rooting for me every step of the way.
