We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendel Abrams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendel, how do you think about risk?
Doubt can deter us as human beings from reaching our full potential. Predicting unforeseen events can hurt us more than not trying. It’s essential to take risks. No risk is too big to take. Whether we learn from our mistakes or succeed, it’s ultimately a sign of growth.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One thing that separates me from others is my creativity and my ability to be personable. At the end of the day, humans all come from different cloths; however, passion and communicate are two things we all share in common. Everyone’s passionate about something and my something just so happens to be golf. I could go on for days talking about golf, but I make it so even someone completely new to the sport can understand what I’m raving about. I am where I am today by having really good people in my circle. I have people who I speak to on a regular basis and then I have some people who I have met in passing that still share my name. Nothing came easy. If you’re thoroughly invested in something, nothing will come easy. Although my passion and being around solid people have helped me get through anything. I’m still evolving. I’ve learned to put on my life vest first so I can help others. I’ve learned the importance of saying no. I’ve also learned the mind is an evil thing to let go to waste. I want the world to know that GolfEudaimonia is not just an era, it’s a lifestyle. If you’re leaving the golf course unhappy, learn to embrace the bad and good days as they’re all part of the journey. One bad swing or score does not define someone, but giving up sure does.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love going to Fluffies! They make the best beignets and snowballs in Los Angeles. Everyone who works there, I consider family. They have helped me in more than one way. If you are looking for something to do on the weekends, Afrobeat parties are the move. I do not drink, but Acai bowls from Jamba Juice are best things on planet Earth.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, I want to shoutout my mom. She’s an absolute rockstar! She was the first one in my family to start playing golf and I’m so glad she knew it was important to introduce her kids to the game of golf from such a young age.
