We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenilworth Katrina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenilworth, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose an artistic and creative career because I’ve always been a lover of creating music. I was born an artist, due to my father being a musician/singer and my mom being a poet/writer. I’ve been writing poems and songs since a child.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is that, even tho I have accomplished alot, I still am not where I want to be, so I’m never giving up until I achieve all my dreams. All my life I have wanted to be a star, it’s different for me. I’m most proud of performing at Constitution Hall in Washington DC alongside Nonchalant, MC Lyte, Doug E Fresh and many more. I only got to where I am today by the grace and favor of GOD. He blessed me to not only be consistent but to also always put out good music. My journey wasn’t easy, but I had more good times than bad. I overcame all challenges by focusing only on the good and the good kept coming. I learned alot of lessons along the way but the most important 1 I learned is to trust GOD with the process and everything will work out in your favor. Before it’s all said and done, I want the world to remember me for leaving a legacy of putting out good music and motivating people to follow their dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area I’d definitely take her to LA. I think I’d probably start in Hollywood. After that I’d take her everywhere else she’d wanna go

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my city D.C , my family, my hood and everyone that crossed paths with me that helped shaped me into who I am. Thank you for everything 🙏🏾
