We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenny Lam and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kenny, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to risks, I take the time to think about and weight both the pros and cons of the end result of taking whatever the risk is. Taking risks plays a huge part in my life/ career as not just an Actor but also as a producer and content creator online. I understand that people take alot of time when it comes to risks but for me, I don’t let the thoughts occupy much of my time as I’m usually about 5 steps ahead when it comes to having plans.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Asian American Actor, what sets me apart is that I am also proficient in writing, cinematography, editor, voice over, motion capture, and stand-up comedy. I’m most proud of the work I have gotten to do in the last two years not just as an actor but in other fields in the TV/ Film industry. I got to where I am today thanks to the support from my undergrad professors as well as the professors and colleagues I have gotten to connect and work with in the last two years. The path I took that lead to the present hasn’t always been easy however, keeping myself busy and continuing to hone and learn more of the craft has helped me overcome a lot of the challenges I’ve had to deal with.
Lessons I’ve learned along the way is communication goes a long way when it comes to working in a collaborative team where everybody can trust each other. The world should know that I’m not the typical professional actor in LA, I’m ambitious, experienced, and easy/ fun to work with, I’m also a United States Army Veteran. I’m flexible and can quickly adapt to situations that best suit whatever obstacle comes my way.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Favorite places to visit would be Venice Beach and the Boardwalk, Universal Studios, Culver city, Chinatown, and Ventura. There are plenty of delicious and inexpensive food trucks, but if you’re in the mood for Asian cuisine then there is Alhambra or Kura sushi.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dedicate this to Oklahoma City University and the faculty that taught and supported my classmates and myself in the past two years.
